Machinist trade school. Most of your credits will transfer. Take the machining classes and you can literally get a job anywhere right now.

Retiring machinist outnumber new grads significantly.

I agree. Military is great for Men. I had a blast. If I did it again I would join the US Coast Guard. You don't leave the US & you learn some cool skills, get on the sea, learn sea and international laws & get to play with some expensive toys. I would get my bachelors degree (accounting) first though & earn a lot more as an officer & retire early. Once you're in its pretty easy to get a lateral transfer to another service, too. I got every job, training, and base I every wanted because I was persistent & crafty.

If I had it to do over, I'd go into carpentry instead of aviation maintenance/electrical.

Military.

Let them pay for your trade or get a speciality that’s high paying.

Better yet, pick a speciality that will let you do a 30 year career in the military, but is not front line grunt work. Be smart about branch etc

They can pay for your college tuition and you serve for a specific time. It also provides housing benefits and okay pay.

Best trades imho are electrician, and aircraft tech (A&P)

Electrician, one of the most "brainy" trades and there is a severe lack of smart people going into that trade as everybody thinks "higher education" is the key to success.

Also, the sky is the limit in that trade.

Like to install washing machines for Grannies and get some cake, coffee and nice tips afterwards?

Outdoors guy, you like climbing, welcome to big power and with big power come pretty decent benefits.

Like basic programming, learn PLC controls, build prototypes, do field development. Write the code and watch the machine working it.

Or become expert in an niche field, start as grunt and work up to planning or even sales support or sales. With hands-on experience no pure sales guy competitor can keep up with you.

Good friend specialised in fixing those expensive coffee machines, makes a very decent living and people come from far to have their rather expensive machines fixed.

Work as electrician or service guy in a factory, steady work times, good for hobbies.

Or get paid to travel, I was in Canada, Ukraine, Russia, Finnland ... all + expenses fully paid by my employer and with some planning and things going well you can always squeeze in a half day or day of vacation after the job is done.

You learn more about the local folks by just working with them on a site than visiting a place as "tourist"

Short: MBAs, "soft skill" graduates, office folks ... are a dime a dozen but good electricians never run out of work.

And we are just starting the electrical revolution, from smart grids to more efficient everything to smart appliances and smart homes not to mention machines replacing people.

Sure, all that stuff can be built in china for cheap, but there will always be some guy necessary who knows how to connect the wires correctly.

I started installing outlets and cutting walls to hide wires and now, according to statistics, in the top 10% of earners in my west-european country.

Just finished my Apprenticeship Electricians Aptitude Test via I.B.E.W.

Go for a trade my dude. Extremely good opportunity in any trade right now because it's frowned upon by most of society.

You prob won't get anything in science WITHOUT a degree. But you can do something in computers without one especially programming. Cyber Security is another tech field that's in high demand. Graphic artists are always in demand as well.

Answer: Do whatever you like. Truth: Go ahead and drop out of college instead of switching to a major that better suits you. Less competition for me in the real world :)
