I was just buying some stuff to fix my shower and an old man (around his 60's) came to me so I could order what I wanted. While he was getting what I needed he asked if I was dating and I said "No, I'm on a few projects and I don't have much free time to date" (the usual answer). I expected to hear the same BS as always "You need to take care of your health and spend time with a good girl" But he actually asked what I was doing, I told him and he said "Sounds nice (with a happy face). What's happiness for you? Do you feel happy living like this?"

I noticed that he mentioned dating, my current lifestyle and happiness one thing after the other, but since he said "sounds nice" and not the same BS that everyone else said, I realised he didn't considered by default that dating = happiness. I replied "Yeah, I'm working on smth I wanted since I was a kid and achieving it will make me really happy. Achieving my goals is how I define happiness"

He gave me a smile and game me 15% OFF (WTF?!)

When I went back home I was thinking if it was some kind of secret answer that he uses to spot MGTOWs? And why would he give me 15% discout? There was no info saying that he was giving discount to costumers...

That actually sounds like a great idea for spotting each other without having to say that we are mgtows
