For me it was the same untill my mid twenties. My looks was about avergae, like a 6 or maybe a 7 on a good day.

Then, past my mid twenties. My money and my Status went up a bit. Then first I got some short term things, and also a LTR or 4 years.After going through this, I quit and decided to become celibate. To much time, drama, pain, etc.. was in that; plus I don't want to have children so there is no real point/purpose in a LTR.
For short term sex, if one really needs that, I think realistically speaking escort/hooker would be smarter/wiser (time, drama, risk and money wise) then trying to find hookups. Although I can't speak from experience on escort/hookers because I never did that..
