Because of vanity Athena cursed Medusa, stripping her of her vain beauty. While Medusa relies on baseness, lust of weak men, and pure manipulation, Athena herself is noble because she governs herself from cognitive alertness. Athena is literally born from the mind of Zeus meaning she lives by patriarchal order and wisdom. Furthermore, Athena not only ruins Medusa’s gimmick of the sexual manipulation of men but she also inadvertently curses the “simps” who seek out Medusa by fating all who stare at Medusa to be felled from petrification (turning to stone). The allusion to sexual manipulation with the “turning to stone” of men should be highlighted. In other words the curse of Medusa by Athena upon men isn’t necessarily implicated from glancing at her but rather focusing too heavily on her or being sexually beguiled by her.

For the hero Perseus to defeat Medusa, Athena following the will of Zeus gives Perseus a reflective shield, basically a mirror. This to me is where the relationship between the mythology and MGTOW really synchronizes. Perseus assumingely must see his own reflection when killing Medusa. That to me is the core of MGTOW, recognizing yourself and reminding yourself who you truly are, rather than the base, lust driven entity Medusa will manipulate you into being.

Athena is in a sense the platonic ideal of what a woman should be. She is opposite of the spiritually deformed Medusa. Perseus is the MGTOW Man, the opposite of the numerous aimless lemmings who are felled by Medusa.

Please consider keeping Perseus with you as a meditation on MGTOW in some form. Whether it be a picture Perseus slaying Medusa or any other reminder using the great hero.

I think the Greeks had a pretty good idea of what women generally tend to devolve into. They were the quintessential Patriarchal society of the West.
