I think you are confusing love with romantic attraction (which makes sense, since the word 'love' has many different meanings)

True love, though, is not based on attraction. True love = total acceptance of the person as it is, unconditionally and, most importantly, selfessly (you don't want anything in return, like loving you back)

As a such, true love is something you give: So there's nothing to lose, nothing to be afraid of.

At 24 you don’t understand real love. You are talking about lust and neediness. Don’t be weak. Real love is a two way thing, built on mutual respect and comes long after this initial phase of a relationship that your post focuses on. Don’t be weak at the start of any relationship. Strength will build her respect for you. Women don’t respect weakness. At all. Ever.

Terrible advice and terrible insights.

Just because you selfishly loved a girl and she decided toccurb you, since you were acting needy, hurt and overall lost frame, doesn't mean that this is the general case.

You need to love yourself first. Once you do, your love for others becomes "pure", you no more seek to be loved back, you no more seek validation.

But if you're weak, you'll want to get back everything you give, even your emotions, and if you're in such mindset I could see how loving someone is a dangerous path.

True love isn't about receiving, it is about giving. You don't have to be a little piece of shit because you got your heart broken once. Grow from it. Love is the best thing you can give to people.
