Okay, so my wife and I are expecting our first child. She is 7 months along and we got an ultrasound yesterday to check on the progress (my wife’s medical issues caused the OBGYN to be extra cautious).
During the appointment, the tech was pointing out our daughter’s different body parts, telling us where the legs and feet are. It was the first time we didn’t really need the help, because we could see our baby looking like a real baby. My wife started crying, and I was comforting her, when she said the words. “I can’t believe I’m making a human being.”
I kept comforting her, but I waited a few minutes and, once the tech was gone, gently reminded her that we are both the parents, not just her. I also told her that saying she’s “making” the baby on her own is not accurate, since I provided half the genetic material.
My wife was still emotional at this point, and she started crying again thinking I don’t appreciate what she’s putting her body through to be pregnant. Obviously this is false, especially since her pregnancy has been so tough that I’ve attended at least two doctors appointments every month. I show her with actions, not words, that I appreciate her.
I just don’t think it’s fair to claim I haven’t contributed something to making our daughter. She is still upset the next day. So, AITA?

Ah, selective arguments.
The man gets no credit in making the baby, but you can bet your bottom dollar he'll get the "blame" when it comes to paying for said baby.
[–]TheRabid6 points7 points8 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree. I don’t understand the logic either.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Remember when it was offensive to say to a women “she’s pregnant” and is limiting the fact both parents are a “team,” so say they’re both pregnant? Now they’re just switching it back around when it’s convenient lol

Agreed, fucking shit show. And look at his response to the first comment. Men are allowed no pride or self respect in our society. This will only get worse for him.
[–]zubbs993 points4 points5 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Yep men are expected to forfeit any rights, be dutiful to the wife/mother, stay silent even while disrespected, and pay up pay up pay up.
[–]DangZagnut42 points43 points44 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Typical.
It's a perfect example though, so I appreciate the honesty there.
Once you nut in a woman and she gets knocked up, you are instantly shape changed into an ATM.
Your entire role is to be an ATM and god forbid you step out of line. She, and all of society, wants to keep you there and you're to shut the fuck up and keeping pumping out cash. Forever.
Any excuse for her doing anything ever is because she has a magic vagina.
And that bullshit about how hard being a mother is just what it is, bullshit. Your role as a mother is basically a) don't be a massive cunt, and b) actively try not to murder the little crotch spawn, and half the time they fuck that up and actively kill them.
Even when they actively do kill them, there's a multitude of excuses. Postpartum depression, substance abuse, but never, never ever that she's a horrible piece of shit.
Mothering is so hard that they seem to be able to do it over and over. So I guess it must not be as traumatic as the narrative is.
As for a father? Sorry it is never your child. Never. Once you blow the spark of life in her zip lock bag and it starts making a sea monkey, you don't get shit. It is 100% hers and 0% yours. You're nothing. And that's even with the 70% chance that it's actually yours.
So the joy of father hood, being an ATM until your spirit is broken so you keep paying after they leave the home.
Children belong to women, there is no 'we', only 'her'. To the world, society, culture, the law, and her.
But keep telling yourself you're siring your 'heirs' and your 'muh genes' all you want.
That is entirely at her whim. She has to be a full on murderer for her children to be taken away and given to you to parent.

To see how undervalued fathers are makes me not want to have any kids. I bet they won't be saying that when that kid needs something. When the bill comes they'll all be saying then that she didn't make the baby herself.
[–]The_Stumper10 points11 points12 points (1 child) | Copy Link
You’re not kidding.
I found it funny how both these were posted today.
[–]Joey_Lopez6 points7 points8 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I bet if the government wasn't so quick to step in to replace the fathers role, they would appreciate having a father then.

I couldn't read for more than 3 minutes before my brain started to melt due to the level of retardation. My brain literally began to hurt. So he's an asshole for stating a biological fact? LMFAO GYOW boys!
[–]80173518 points19 points20 points (3 children) | Copy Link
"What do you mean?"
[–]SirGuileSir2 points3 points4 points (2 children) | Copy Link
You honestly don't understand that phrase?
[–]8017352 points3 points4 points (1 child) | Copy Link
I do,... I DO! ]=)
Omg! Just imagine, if the marriage is going to be that great, how grand will the divorce be!! Can't wait!
But on the serious side, yup I do understand that phrase. I'm not a blonde, who came in to the gyno talling him she's been feeling rather sick in the few past mornings. After the check doc tells her she's having a baby. "But, doctor, are you SURE the baby is mine?" ]=)
I quoted my previous comment as in somespecificbody saying it.

My guess is anywhere from 100,000 grand to 250,000 grand
[–]r1chten14 points15 points16 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Smdh. "Me" turns to "we" when bills start coming.

my advise: paternity test, to be sure.

Excellent point. It's very easy to swab an infant when mom is taking a nap.

When did aita become such a cuck sub? They used to be semi normal.
[–]FutureSquall6 points7 points8 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Look at that. They got one too many NTAs so the knights locked it down...again.
[–]CowboyRazor6 points7 points8 points (0 children) | Copy Link
It's all her until he leaves her and she wants the money

Those comments towards the man were so angry and hostile I was thrown off. I thought women were mostly indifferent to us men but it seems like they actually hate us. Poor guy just wanted some credit and wanted to feel important too but heaven forbid the woman shares the spotlight. I'm so glad I'm mgtow where I don't have to deal with someone who thinks so little of me.
[–]Natuasi4 points5 points6 points (0 children) | Copy Link
This is really troubling. When women make these types of statements they're really exposing their true feelings/nature. Which is, you're nothing more than a utility unfortunately.
[–]Ortraz2 points3 points4 points (2 children) | Copy Link
I mean, some of them had a point. All he really did was shoot a load in her. But I’m not saying that the man had no part in it, just that his part felt good and was fun and hers is painful and long.
[–]FelixMarshall3 points4 points5 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Obviously, it is true that the momentary and sexually pleasing participation of the Father can not be compared to the continuously painful and physically awful participation of the Mother.
However, what's infuriating is how a Father is no longer allowed to state the biological fact:
"That baby shares my genes, so the baby is also mine."
Nowadays, no man is allowed to his emotions, his money, his property - and now he is not even allowed his own body from which his children came from. TBH, these sort of posts just push me further and further into permanently GMOW. Perhaps, this is the post that does it for me, because I'm pretty sure it will.
[–]throwaway9210301191 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I see your point, but in most cases I would disagree. Who is grinding away 50 hours a week at some soul-crushing cubicle job to pay for food, medical appointments, baby furniture, diapers, house in a good school district, etc. etc.? And perhaps more importantly, who provides leadership as the child transitions from infancy to childhood to adolescence? All evidence strongly suggests that the male role in raising children is very important.
[–]zubbs992 points3 points4 points (0 children) | Copy Link
He's the man, when push comes to shove it's not his kid - except for the child support part.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Wow... it's crazy how many people are willingly blind to the facts. Glad I don't have to put up with this bullshit
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Ha just wait till she demands a push present
Edit: Don't know what he was expecting on reddit. Tired of Mollycoddling women who are just doing their biological function.
[–]Whirrlz1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I hate people. I really do lol
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
They shamed him so badly that he deleted his account. A simp is born every minute.
[–]Invduck771 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol! Asshole no. Dumbass, yes! Why the fuck would you put that on Reddit. He should have known how that would go. Also, she owns you even more now. Another nail in the coffin. Probably see that OP in this sub in a few years when he gets divorced raped.
[–]trumpisaforcedmeme1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
He's going to be reminded of that remark for the rest of his life. Poor fucker.
[–]Samuraidweeb1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
"don't fuck with women you've impregnated in general. they're much tougher and have done something most of us Men could never imagine having to deal with. respect to all Mothers" but when it comes to paying for it it's man's fault. Pass.
[–]JDP_190 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Without the man there would be no baby. Did they miss the talk, wtf?!
[–]Staircase19780 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Eh....I sort of agree with them, at least 50% . I went to every doctor's appointment, bought healthy organic food, bought vitamins/supplements, and paid for everything.
But my ex wife's body made the baby. I blew a load in her. Sure, I was important because it was 50% of my genetic material. And I provided resources. But in all actuality, she made the human.
This will all be a mute point once artificial wombs are available. Just my opinion, but I feel they will be on the market in 10 years or less.
You can promote them as a way to create humans without wreaking the female's body. But it will actually undermine their value in society.
