Can’t watch anime or even play games where the MC is a female?

I'll admit, I'm absolutely in love with Senran Kagura. Women I know in real life hate it because they complain that it's "unrealistic" and they hate the fanservice.

Maybe that's partly why I like the series.

It's everything women consider a threat and it's everything I like to see as a man. Lots of cute chicks without having to deal with the BS that real ones give.

I can agree with some of what you're saying. Certain shows i just won't watch after starting cause they are obvious drivel. However, with video games it's different. Lately (aside from Zelda botw) I've been playing Horizon: Zero Dawn. So far the story is a well paced very fun game. The main character isn't some dainty thot. She's a well developed badass mentored by an awesome Man. As the character you play as, and the dialogue you see throughout, I've noticed it's probably the only game I've played aside from The Last of Us that has a female driven by a goal and doesn't get distracted or doubtful about it. In this case, finding her origins and who she really is. One thing i wish they'd do is make more general enemies female. Most of the thieves' dens are full of dudes waiting for an arrow in the neck or a spear in the chest. Aside from that this is one of the few games I'm appreciative of having a female protagonist.

Honestly, you could probably replace her with a dude and the quality would be the same.

Check out Hajime No Ippo. The manga is going on 29 years where the main character still haven't kiss his supposed girl friend.

It's basically all about boxing with the occasional sex scenes from some characters. They don't even talk about relationships with any female.

The anime is up to season 2 I think.

It works okay for me in games if I think of them as purely fictional, like an imaginary species as the guy suggested in this thread.

The concept of women we are sold by society and the media is a fantasy... But games and shows are NOT REAL. That's the whole point. It's ok to enjoy a fantasy in fiction because THAT'S WHAT IT'S FOR. We can't have it in real life, but we CAN have it in fantasy. At least that's how I see it.

Yes I also avoid a lot of the misandrist media out today. Although if a movie sounds interesting and has a female that doesnt mean it will necessarily be cucked. It can be written by sane writers who just wrote a female lead. Use the previews and film info to determine if you think a man hater made it

This is something I’ve actually had a problem with lately. So I have strong mGTOW values and spend my fair share looking at trends and the flow of society to reflect aspects of it in the work that I do. My work being a writer who’s gathered a small team to slowly put out a series with a female lead aaaaaaand that’s when the trouble starts.

With my focus being directed to realizing the importance of guys having something they can connect to, the current direction of the work has me rather... paused. Looking through the entire work, I know some of the values I’ve developed today will make themselves present, but then there is the issue of alienating my bois that I actually do care about in the early stages because of the seeming female focus.

Because of this I may be a little bias, but I urge you to not be so hasty with the true intent behind any works. Regardless of the gender originally present, give things time to prove themselves.

Realize that the women in games and anime are completely different from the women in real life and then it's not a problem.

Been playing tons of Dead or Alive Venus Vacation and I finished watching Gabriel Dropout, Kemono friends, Girls und Panzer (Girls and Tanks), and just starting Cardcaptor Sakura and RWBY.

Meh, I don't care as long as the story is compelling and the female character fits.

For example, Nier Automata is probably my favorite video game of all time. 2B and A2 are both female and play as main characters at some point. They're probably the most physically capable individuals in the game, but the reasoning why fits, and their characters have real motivation for what they do.

Aliens is also probably one of my favorite movies. Ripley is a great female lead that's strong, but still somewhat realistic (she's not out-badassing the marines left and right until she gets in the power loader -- something she's an expert at).

Compare these characters to Rey -- a Mary Sue with no faults and no motivation or reasoning for anything she does aside from the tingles she gets for Kylo.

Or compare them to Bean in Disenchanted. The writers can't decide whether to make her badass or a completely useless piece of shit (she flips flops back and forth from one episode to the next). The only motivation she has is she wants to be single...oh wait...no she wants to get laid...no wait, she wants to be independent...no she really enjoys the privilege of being a princess!

I don't think something having a female lead or MC is enough of a reason to dismiss it, but you should always make sure the creator isn't some purple-haired SJW or you're gonna have a bad time.
