Two aspects of the female mind are portrayed in this acticle. First, it is the position that a female only cares about what happens at the current moment. The past is not relevant, even though it's a strong indicator. Hence, she thinks that becoming a celibate somehow erases her past as a slut and she'll suddenly be a different person.

Second, women operate largely by words and less by acts. Stating some intention is equal to executing that intention, in her mind. So by simply saying she's going celibate, she already believes it is the case.
