I've been through that. It's the worst hell I have ever experienced but you will come out bulletproof when it's over.

First: STAY CALM.

Second: Everybody on her side will make you look like a mass-murderer/rapist. This is the hardest part.

Third: She has no right to keep the kids from their father. The kids have every right to be with you. This is a UN decision that trickled down to every country. They are doing this to twist you into submission. The bitch wants to ruin you. Don't stop fighting until you get equal access.

Fourth: Do not drink!

Fifth: You will feel like you're in a jail cell for the entire year. Expect that and don't fall apart.

Sixth: spend every moment with the kids so that they miss you when they're away from you. Do not show anger. They will get scared.

If you haven't already, get a lawyer.

Been there. Be fascinated by it don't obsess. Be ready and willing to go into bankruptcy for the kids. When my X figured out I was willing to ruin both of our finances she started to get something shy of unreasonable.

Talk to her family (at a public place, like lunch somewhere) and explain the facts. Not the nonsense women will comment in the form of perjury and slander to profit from child support.

Do not blame yourself... for anything. There are always opportunities to be a better person, but this was a breakdown of a relationship (the combination of two people). So, never blame yourself for that breakdown.

No booze, weed, substances. Stay clean 100%. If anything, clean up your diet, don’t eat trash food, and cook.

The smear campaign is inevitable. Do not do it in return. Walk the high road, further down the road you can have your integrity. This sucks, but don’t give ANYONE any reason to say you’re spiteful/vindictive/etc. This will pass eventually. People get tribal about this shit and you’ll find out who your friends are. That one or two close buddies you may have, the ones who would help you bury a dead body and take the secret to the grave, ask if it’s ok to vent if you need privately. You’re going to need the support.

You must start becoming a zen master, no joke. It saved my ass. There will be moments where you want to lash out. Do not do it, no dirty looks, glances, etc... hard as hell, but be neutral. And especially in court, don’t even look at her. You want people to see you content and in control. Fake it, you will need to in the beginning, but it will start to take hold.

You’ll likely hit a point where your confusion, initial anger, sadness, and feelings of isolation (like someone ripping viral organs out) will change to deep deep burning anger. Just be aware of this... because it lasts a long time, but can motivate, be careful but use it.

Do NOT say anything to involve the kids... eg - “Mom is a bad person”, etc... some parents try to pull the kids in, massive mistake, and not their shit to deal with. You make every time with you the best time they’ve ever had!

Yoga, meditation, boxing, weightlifting... pick up anything that allows you to get some mental balance, counter obsessive thinking, and burn yourself out physically. If you can’t sleep at night or can’t stand the silence, go to the gym, crank the headphones and bleed it out on a treadmill and the weights.

Don’t mess around on the side with a side chick. There may come a point where your libido kicks in on high. Deal with it at home. I dabbled with this, and realized I was “competing” by doing it. It made me more unbalanced.

Many of us older mgtows, went through a similar process, it is a very difficult moment in your life and you have to be (as much as you can) mentally strong but remember, this is the beginning of your life as a free man, during my divorced 11 years ago, i suffered a lot, and did not have the guidance of this community, I did it alone and everything that i feared would never end, with time it did..

I thought i lost my 2 teen and preteen daughters, I didnt and have a wonderful relationship with both. Never believed I would enjoy being alone and now Ive been Monk Mode for years living as a free man, full of vitality, enjoying the simple life.

The most important thing for me is that I was an emotional wreck, I never in my wildest dreams imagined i would become this version of myself.

But as the other fellow mgtow points out, this moment is paramount that you dont go crazy, soldier up, dont give the system more ammo against you. Cut your loses bro, It will all be good with time and effort. I know its hard but keep your cool and believe in yourself. Good luck

If you ever want to see them, don’t do anything that can put you in a negative light. A month is a long time but not compared to a year or a stint in jail. Keep fighting legal channels, you’ll get your due.

It gets better steadily. They will keep trying to screw with you out of revenge for years. distance helps. Those types all look their very best in a rear view mirror.

Been there for almost a year. Haven’t seen my kids since May. Focus on your job, find some friends to associate with, actual friends that let you vent, not people that just want to bring you down. Find a hobby. You’ve got more free time, so use it to better yourself.

Yes, not being around your kids sucks. Not having your “normal” sucks. Being broke sucks. But it gets better. If you want any chance in hell of even coming close to breaking even, DO NOT DO ANYTHING IRRATIONAL. The minute you get your nose dirty, the courts will be all over you. Sadly, we all know that in order for a woman to come out on top, all she has to do is exist. You know the game, so prepare for the next few moves.

Also, if she winds up with a new guy, remember, he is the one catching the bullet now. It’s no longer your problem. Be grateful for that.

Keep your head up brother. It will get better.
