Got a serious question for OP:

What's with the trend in the last few years to do away with serrated edges? I've noticed in the heavily laden "Combat knife" area that it seems like nobody is doing serrated edges anymore.

My favorite knife ever is the SOG Seal Knife 2000. No, it's not some insanely expensive knife, but it's worked well on 2 combat tours and plenty of field rotations.
