Is it me or is the current state of rap transitional into that gender roles are switching?
The current rise in hip hop are hard ass, gun toting, stripper or hood booger and on the other foot we have those still seeing shadows in their room and rainbow dreads.
Am I digging in to deep ?

Most styles of music have degenerated considerably. Strangely enough, it coincides with the advancement and availability of technology.
In the case of hip hop, it used to cost a fortune for turntables, battle records, drum machines, samplers, synths, DAWs etc. Much like techno and house music. People had to be certain they wanted to invest a lot of cash, and they also required a more than basic understanding of studio hardware.
These days the kids can download a free app on their phone.
