I was reading the comments on that thread and holy fucking christ. I knew from a young age I would never get married and I'm glad I never did. I never even lived with any of my ex gfs. Fuck that shit. "You fold your clothes wrong". Oh yea? If you don't like how I fold MY OWN FUCKING CLOTHES then there is the door and don't let it hit you on the way out.

I'm all about learning how to do something better. If you have some way to fold clothes that will make my clothes less wrinkled, or be faster to do, then sure tell me about it!

But most of the people who have tried telling me how to do stuff don't have improvements to offer. What they have is "do things my way because I want to control you." Or "I have a bogus reason why my way is better that won't stand up to any amount of questioning, and if you question me I will be insulted."

So fuck that shit.

Marriage sucks, it is stupid and in today's society it will most likely never end up good. The only reason marriage used to work was because society had put heavy restrictions on women. There were (bad) consequences for being a slut. There was no no-fault divorce. There was dowry. Men were allowed to beat their wives, sounds fucked up but it is necessary or else you get police arresting you for defending yourself from your abusive wife. Men used to get full custody of their children in case of divorce etc. etc. Mind you, this was the situation in most places all over the world and not just in few countries.

But since women were so 'oppressed' they decided to rebel and destroy the 'patriarchy' and marriage. We broke down the rules and restrictions our ancestors put in place. What do we get? Voila! After about 40-50 years divorce rates are touching the sky, adultery is the norm, STDs are rampant, birth rates are below replacement levels, less than 30% young men are interested in marriage etc. FUN.
