I barely ever use public transportation any more, but I have commuted a lot in the past and historically given up my seat for women in advanced pregnancy or elders, who were not rude and tried to force it out of me. Just basic human decency. Nowadays I still would do so. I may be a MGTOE, but well, a little empathy does not hurt. That being said, I have never given up my seat for women just because were women or even for older grandmas, who were pretetentious and trying to guilt-blackmail me.
