It's been this way for 20 years or more; it used to be infrequent, but in the early 2000's it had a noticeable uptick, hence I canceled cable (that and I just didn't watch it). Then the past few years it's just the obvious gag for selling shit to women...empower them, demonize the men, and women stay in debt.

Marketers know who their target audience are.

The fact that they do work, speaks volumes about the audience they are intended for, as does the fact that there really is no reverse.

One does not sell products to men by encouraging them to shit on their wives. But you would think if men were so toxic, the way to get us to buy things would be toxic, wouldn't you?

Yet, what do they use to sell men products? I think the last sexist commercial I've seen was for Mr. Microphone back in the 80s! And even then the selling point was "Buy our product and look like a dufus errr I mean, attract the lady."

You would think if men were so toxic, you would see more Mr Microphone commercials, GASP! are they not effective? How can that be!

I recall a FedEx commercial where a black woman was training a white male with an MBA and she said she'd talk slow or something like that. It was insulting and a blatant spite for educated white men. That's the first time I realized the attack was in full force.

My mum was watching channel 5 today in the other room and it was so loud that I could here it and it was just constant man shaming. The advert was of some single mum Scouse chicks saying "who needs a man when you can have a spray tan hee hee hee". That was followed by neibours which was about how women can do things better than men and had some female mechanic trying to inspire everyone. She then flicked over to a recording of loose women which was more man shame rambling. Tv is more damaging then some people give credit.
