I saw this documentary a while ago on this super max prison where the worst of the worst offenders go.

And they were saying the inmates have NO contact with other inmates or guards. Meals are served in the cells. They get one hour a week of exercise in the yard alone. They are allowed reading material in their cells but they are totally isolated from human contact.

And I thought to myself.....

Fuck. I think I could do that for like three months.

Today at work, my co-worker talked about how he had a rough set of days off. Having to do all kinds of stuff and furniture rearranging to make his wife happy. Then he bought something from a guy who had to get rid of it because his wife didn't think it went with the rest of the house.

During that conversation, one of our security team walked in and shared his weekend. Wife wanted a bigger bed. Bought a bigger bed. Didn't want to keep his headboard. He had no say in it in spite of it being his and he paid for their new bed.

I pointed out three stories they shared that had made it clear being single was better. Their response was to point out I slept alone.

I do. I get the whole bed. The whole house. Every...god....damned... Enchilada...
