As a voice of experience, at age 48, I'm going to say that a heart romantically broken does heal. It's just hearts that are broken because of family members like your dad etc... never heal. You miss their companionship and talking to them.

Out of the 32 women I was with, I don't miss a single one. I do miss my dad and my aunt (his sister) every day.
