I don't get to speak to him (divorce attorney friend) often as he is pretty busy, however, when I do talk to him he offers a point of view that most of us will never get.

Starting in 2013 it became common practice in his firm that all clients must hand over digital data such as email and SMS messages that show a record of conversations they had with their soon to be ex.

He claims it has saved many clients from going to jail!

Over the years he reviewed over 150 phones and he says what it comes down to is that the SMS history of a married mans phone is just a shopping cart system, but instead of using a credit card they use cute emoji's, nonsense love images or sometimes threats in order to get the orders filled.

He said it is the same pattern on all phones.

Woman: Hey, miss you XOXO

Man: Miss you too

Few hours go by

Woman: Babe, did you get the link I sent? The sale ends today and I don't "want us" to waste money by waiting.

Man: Order placed

Woman: kisses emoji XOXO, when will you be home? You work so hard :-( They should pay you more

This repeats itself over and over again, he said at first when he saw the pattern he was wondering if its the same woman hitting up all his clients (jokingly he said that).

He said another mood they have (same women)

Woman: It's like you don't give a shit about me, you waste money buying yourself things but when I need something simple that I really need you push things off! I am really getting tired of being mistreated

Man: Sorry, I was just busy with work, I will order it now.

Woman: Sorry for going off on you like that, love you

He said the worst type of SMS messages of married men to look at are those men who their wives have an additional credit card.

Man: Sweetie, did you place an order of $6,548 at Such and Such company?

Woman: Yes, it usually goes for $7,580

Man: With the financial issues now we have I was hoping things like that maybe can please wait

Woman: I sacrifice enough for you, the little bit of joy I have in this relationship you also want to take away? So and so's husband never questions her buying activity and be happy im not like her

Man: ok sorry for asking, by the way whats for dinner?

Woman: Please pick something up on the way home, I have to go to --- bachlorette party, won't be home late, can't stand these parties

I took notes as he was talking to me, I use them as reminders for myself. Figured i'll share some with you.
