Canada is too big to do that. There's plenty of small towns if you're seeking solitude.

However, the laws of Calgary are different then Germany, for example, although you may be able to bugger rubber gimps in Germany, you have to make do with moose in Canada.^s

Trudeau is going to be flooding us with migrants unfortunately, however they are mostly localized to bigger cities, smaller country towns don't typically have the support systems needed to help out the migrants.

Alberta is your best bet though if you are still planning on coming over. Also German is the third most common known language here (although thats probably going to change soon).

What type of work do you plan to do? Calgary is a fairly large, busy urban centre with a higher than average cost of living. If you have money, Canmore is the place to be. Otherwise, your skill set, and the demand for it, may dictate where you live. If I could just pick up and move anywhere in Alberta, I’d go to southern Alberta. Weather is better and the pace of life is slower. Lethbridge area would probably be my pick.

Migrants don't like living in small towns for many reasons...isolation (their kids will actually succumb to integration), and most importantly they don't get as much in welfare money as they would in the larger cities, because these small towns are still very traditional in that there is a lot of charity, people going out of their way to help a new person out...so clothes would be donated, the husband and/or older sons would be offered jobs (to get them off welfare as quick as possible)--you know the stuff that would set you up for success if you were really interested in starting a new life in a new land and leaving your past behind.
