I always see pictures in magazines or on TV of famous people approaching middle-age (or beyond), and trying to show that they look like they are 25. What's the deal? It's such an unnatural, space-alien type behavior.

For example, think of most people throughout human history. They probably had to work hard, they probably had difficult lives, and they probably were poor. Just like many people today. I highly doubt they obsessed about trying to make other people think that they weren't getting old -- they were probably happy just to have food and a home.

I think it's so much better to follow the example of previous generations of humans, accept getting old as a natural part of life, and focus on enjoying what one is still able to do, as one gets old. -- And not wasting time trying to fool oneself that the reality of getting old doesn't exist or can be avoided. Or thinking that it is even important to try to fool oneself about.
