The Book of Pook is probably the best material I have on game, life, and everything. And is thus the only material I've never shared, and probably never will unless I get a son of my own.

But since you've shared it, there's nothing for me to do but endorse it. Read it, reread it, and read it again.

I am new to TRP and have come because a recent bout of depression and a bipolar diagnosis have totally crushed my confidence, and I can see the effect it is having on my relationships. Most of the content in this sub I find a little hard to apply to my LTR, though it's very interesting to read anyway. The few tips I've found in the sub that I've been able to employ with my girlfriend have had a noticeable response, however -- to the point where she has actually commented that I seem "more manly lately."

So far I've only read the first 20 pages or so of the Book of Pook but I can already tell that its focus on being a better man, rather than scoring with women, is exactly what I need in my life right now. Reading through the "lessons" I already recognize several that I used to follow but no longer do since being diagnosed with bipolar, and see their impact on my confidence in general. And I also see several lessons that I never even noticed before which I am definitely on the blue pill side of.

You can bet that I will devour this book as quickly as possible, and I think this is the single most powerful post I have found in this sub yet. So I sincerely thank you for equipping me with my first tool on the road to being a better man!

This is the shit I want more of from this community, a free exchange of practical, substantial helpful information, the products of a community of dudes trying to help each other out.

So much of this PUA stuff smells like a dirty salesman trying to get you to buy a bunch of shitty self help books and self-esteem tapes. That pook pdf is quite interesting. I find myself asking the what and how questions a lot when I read this subreddit, most of the content is advocacy, answering the why question, trying to justify why folks need this red pill worldview, but it doesn't do a whole lot of explaining what one does with that point once it is accepted, how does one execute it, what are the details underneath the hood? Being that we're all dudes here, I thought I would find a bit more of the 'how stuff works' side of the topic, like the stuff in those links.

How come there aren't more links of this variety?

Wow. Reading Pook right now and I keep saying to myself "Damn, that's true. Holy shit I didn't realize that but it was right there!". This is extremely helpful.

I don't understand the term "pook", but this book seems to be really one of the best ones. Even at the first pages:

"If you want to be a good catch, consider that birds who willingly fly into cages are not good catches, they are wounded and weak, good catches fly wild and free and really don't want to be caught."

Pure gold. I can very easily understand that metaphor and it cuts really deep.

On the other hand I also think it is not impossible that a wounded bird and a wounded bird catcher find each other and support each other beautifully throughout life. The typical mistake of wounded birds is going for the beautiful princesses offering the best golden cages and then wonder why the she quickly loses interest. Another typical mistake is thinking the catcher can never heal - and never look for another bird... so it is better to be to wild and free bird. But the other option is not impossible either.

To clarify a couple of points.

Pook was an old contributor on a couple of the old SS and such forums. He left mysteriously, however this book was compiled out of all of his old posts with the left of various commentators on the subject.

I appreciate that the majority of TRP is based around the seduction of women, however a larger group of the manosphere is forming where the goal is not just to sleep with chicks, but to develop yourself as a person. To be a better man, to achieve higher, to stretch yourself further. Do that, and the chicks will follow.

Sosuave looks like crap, sure, but so did the first airplane. It was one of the first places to really act as a beacon for people like us.

http://dalrock.wordpress.com/ Tends to focus on the family/ LTR side of things, Christian conservative but a friendly place with a great atmosphere and comments.

Likely because those are more seduction oriented than much of what's typically posted, nonetheless they're great redpill material.
