I just found r/MGTOW today, and I've got to say, where have you been all of my life?? Let me regale you with an abridged story of my love life.

I've always thought - or maybe the world and movies have convinced me - that I need a wife or romantic partner to be happy. Besides, what's weirder than an old, unmarried bachelor, right?? Or so I thought.

So I went through my young life orbiting women like a fuckin' beta, even though they wanted nothing to do with me romantically. I'd catch feels for a girl, they'd play me along for a while until they found an asshole 'Chad' to please them physically for a few minutes. Then they'd come crawling back.

"He was such an asshole. Why can't I find a guy like YOUUUUUU?" Yeah, that typical shit. And I'd continue my beta orbiting until the cycle repeated itself.

I don't hate women. I have a lot of women friends and coworkers, and I respect them in that professional and platonic sense. But I hate the idea that I need a girlfriend or woman to make me feel like I'm living a full life.

I'm only starting to realize this: I alone hold the keys to my happiness, and no other person can help me unlock that door, no matter how much the world tells me otherwise. I don't need a GF or wife to help me live my life to its' fullest. Only I can do that.

So for the time being, I'm focusing on myself, and looking WITHIN to find happiness.
