This breaks my heart...but first and foremost it needs to serve as a cautionary tale.

I went through something almost identical to this; after $10k in lawyer's fees and her stint in county because of it, we've come to an 'understanding'. I cannot stress this enough: she will do everything in her power to make you and keep you miserable, especially if she's figured out her life is shit without you.

If he keeps up these texts it’s going to be used as evidence of harassment in the family courts and he’ll be living with a restraining order against him.

Better to not send more than one message to the ex, then use that in court as evidence of her obstruction. As corrupt as these family courts are, it’s still better than trying to get an ex wife to act rationally

It’s all good though, because he’s paying child support and he’s manning up. He needs to stop harassing the mom and let her live her life, he doesn’t own her. The mother will let her see the kid when it’s convenient. Welcome to 2020 gents, the second he stops paying up there will be consequences. That kid appears to be a toddler or is a young kiddo, many years left of this.

I have a police enforcement clause in one of the orders granted by the court. She wanted it. No problem, I follow the rules. One of the rules is all communication by email only, and responses within 48 hours. I have used this twice in the last 6 weeks, having the RCMP contact her to ensure she is at the exchange location. For anyone going through this, try to have things like this put in place. They keep me in my daughter's life. I would be like this poor dad if it wasn't, because AWALT

From the surface the guy might look clingy or obsessive but there's literal 6 to 9 day gaps between messages.

You can bet 100% that she's probably sent 3,000+ messages on Whatsapp to her male FWB rotation in the meantime.

He a)doesn't have a custody order, b)it's too vague, or c)he's trying to get time that's not his. Regardless, as several others have said, he needs to stop texting so he doesn't get hit with harrassment charges. If it's a he needs to file a motion for a custody order (and good luck there), if it's b he needs to file for a modification and use these texts as evidence that it needs to be more specific, and if it's c he needs to shut the fuck up unless he has a case to get more time.
