The first game of the world cup was played today. I was in awe as I saw the host nation Russia put 5 pretty damn awesome goals against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Suddenly my phone buzzes from a notification. Certainly, it's the guys in the group chat talking about the game. Wrong, its some girl I haven't spoken to since Sophomore year. She had some serious ego problems, as I once gave her a compliment, and she got one of her betas to come up to me and say she wants you to know she's not interested.

What the hell does she want? She asks me what the final score of the game was. I told her 5-0 as I added: "you should watch the games, they don't disappoint". She says she has no way of watching them, and cuts to the chase, asking me if I could be her "world cup reporter" verbatim. Technically I could, as I know everything there is to know about the sport, but I cannot believe this. Certainly it must be some sort of plot, does she have an ulterior motive? It can't be, she has a boyfriend. She literally just comes up in my dm's thinking i'm some sort of free app that can spend my time keeping her up with world cup news, highlights, results, even analysis. I could roast her, but I kindly say no, I haven't got the time to do that, as I recommend her an Instagram page that's perfect in every way for any soccer fans (golazolive if you're a fan). I prayed that was the end of this conversation.

Nope, she had picked up news that I was going to throw gameday parties for all of the biggest and most prestigious matches. She tried inviting herself and then said she might not be able to go because her boyfriend may not let her because other guys would be there, though she would try to get permission. I was losing brain cells reading her bullshit so I finished the conversation right there and then; I said, "don't come then, we're trying to check out the world cup, not you" As if an overweight 4/10 could compete with the marquee games of the most watched tournament of the most watched sport in the world, smh.
