The CDC’s findings are just the latest showing a drop in sexual activity among young people, with teens having sex later and the teen birth rate hitting new lows.

Teenagers “are taking longer to grow up — they are less likely to do things that adults do and children don’t,” including working, getting a driver’s license, dating and drinking alcohol, said Jean Twenge, a psychology professor and author of the book “iGen,” about young people today.

But smartphones also play a role, she said, as “teens started going out less and staying home more, likely because they communicated with their friends online and via text.”

Teens not having sex?!?!?/?!?!?11 why are we supposed to care? I know I'm a nerd at all, but I never knew a single person having sex in high school. I did know this one chick in Jr. High that had sex, which I assumed based on her getting pregnant.

Remember those days? When a girl in your school got pregnant and she "disappeared" like a CIA black van came by and she would transfer to some other school afterwards?

But I'm off book. Who cares that teens aren't having sex? Good for them. They should be studying to get good grades to go to high end schools so they get expensive student loans so my stock portfolio will continue to grow in value.

I graduated in 1986 and I didn't date in high school. I was pretty much locked out of dating and having a social life there because they hazed freshmen and I refused to be hazed.

In college, I didn't date because the girls only wanted to date the guys who liked to party, act obnoxious, and get drunk. I tried dating after graduation in my 20s, but dates were few and far between, mainly for the same reasons.

I haven't dated in years and am OK with that.
