TL/DR Back in the 70's and 80's practically everyone got divorced and the women always got the children, and men never did. All the children were raised by women, without fathers. Those children, are now parents of todays children and those children don't know how to treat a man.

To be fair, I think American women sort of have it rough---they really have very little around which they can construct an identity. I imagine that back in the day, for a lot of women "being a woman" or "femininity" was a part of their identities, and the behaviors and duties that went along with that gave meaning to their lives. Since the various waves of feminism, however, all of that seems to have been washed away.

Feminism effectively removed "being a woman" and "femininity" from the sphere of acceptability for most American women, but American society/culture provided nothing to replace it with. What does it mean to be an American woman? Can anyone tell you? They are separated from the traditional female roles of family and lifegiver yet not really fulfilled by the humdrum existence that men have had to put up with since the societies became industrialized. I wouldn't be surprised if women want to be more something, perhaps more like women, but there is just nothing available to them.

Chinese girls are __. Russian girls are ___ Kenyan girls are ______, etc. If we asked enough people, we could probably get a pretty good idea what are the positive defining characteristics of women from different cultures around the world. But what would anyone ever say about American women? They just can't deliver to the same level as women pretty much anywhere else in the world.
