I sort of missed Bitcoin (I once traded for a pizza online for what today would be like $30k in bitcoin), but I definitely hit the Ethereum train. I bought it at $15 and it passed $300 a few days ago.

It will be interesting to see if cryptocurrencies survive when governments around the world really start taking their efforts to suppress and/or regulate them seriously. I know China and Russia are already working towards banning the use of cryptocurrencies entirely, and there are a lot of very big financial institutions here in the U.S. that would love to see the same happen here.

Too much of an unknown for me to invest in personally.

Grats on the gains though.

Other than the fact it is tulipmania all over again, what is to stop yet a second third or fourth independent bitcoin like cryptocurrency from popping up and competing with it? The same reason no one owns any valuable bank notes from the wildcat banking era of the mid 1800s.

I've read some where government involvement might hurt bitcoin. Something about getting rid of the anonymity of it. I for one do believe in bit coin but when the irs or gov wants in on it I feel like it will go to shit. If gov isn't already thinking of making it's own digital currency. Idk opinions brothers.

It's going well, I've made enough to buy a new Tesla (Don't worry I'm HODL) but it's depressing to know that if I'd invested when I first heard about BTC I'd have enough to buy a new Gulfstream.

Bitcoin will eventually crash. The block chain technology will be archaic in the next 2-3 years and it really has no ulility. It's going up only based on speculation, not fundamentals.

If you enjoy gambling, buy bitcoin but don't be angry when it crashes.
