Post Hurricane María Update

Oh man...what a mess. One of the fortunate few people with a phone with internet connection is doing me a favor. Where do I start... Three weeks in and things are just starting to mobilize.

The house I was living in was lost. The wind took the roof clean off. I lost all my stuff, but not to the hurricane itself no, but to looters! They stole a 32 inch tv, an Xbox One, a PS4 Pro, clothes, and around 10 textbooks related to math and programming.

I lost my job. The restaurant I did some shifts every week was just completely obliterated along with the rest of the boardwalk. There's nine of us staying in the same house I stayed during the hurricane. I'm using up all my remaining cash on fuel, gas for cooking, groceries, and general supplies. I want to leave, but I'm stuck here, nearly penniless.

They already said expecting electricity by Christmas is optimistic lmao. Just a total lack of foresight and organization everywhere. And then the citizens... My people can be beyond stupid. Scamming, robbing--cutting cables and delaying progress. Banks closed, Post Office barely operating. Scarce supplies. I've had to wait in line for many hours only to find out the ATM system crashed or there was no more gasoline.

Gah. Can't wait for this to be over.
