Women don't have strong female friendships so male friendships confound them and they see it as a threat to their attention-seeking and thus to their ability to get more resources.

By the sound of it, she sounds like a lot of girls who are a pain to hang out with because the wrong word or gesture will set her off so he has to be careful around her unlike with his best friend. Also when they hang out, she no doubt expects him to dote on her and make her feel special which is again something he doesn't have to do with his best friend.

Women are completely incapable of forming truly close friendships with other women. So it should come as no surprise that when they see two men who are close buddies they immediately think that they're gay, as they have no other frame of reference for those kinds of friendships. It's simple hanging out with other men is usually fun and beneficial to both parties. I had drinks with an old friend from highschool this weekend. I haven't seen this dude in years. It was fun to have someone to talk and bullshit with for a while he bought me a few drinks and for the first time in a while he had someone to be open with and bullshit about life with .

Even the best days I have had with super submissive women seemed like a delicate balancing act.
