The last few paragraphs, the ones that mentions MGTOW, are surprisingly fair.

On the Mgtow message boards, members discuss work (“Ever work for a woman? Roll up your sleeves and share your horror story”), technology (“The stuff girlfriends and wives can’t stand — computers, games, consoles”) and dating (mostly best practices to avoid commitment).

“I think there are a lot of guys living this lifestyle without naming it, and then they find Mgtow,” said Ms. Jaye, who calls herself a former feminist.

Seems pretty fair to me. I think this article may end up directing a fair amount of traffic towards MGTOW.

Feminists whine about the "lived experiences of all women" and "listen and believe." But when men talk about their experiences of abuse at the hands of women, feminists tell men to shut the fuck up. If you want to know why men are finding MGTOW, it's because men as individuals realize that women are just not worth the trouble they bring.

Feminists demand that men give them consideration that they are not obligated to return. They demand that we "listen and believe" when they complain about "rape culture" and "glass ceilings" and "The Patriarchy." They put their hands over their ears when we talk about instances of boys and men being harmed by "gender quotas" and "parental alienation" and "pathologizing boyhood" and informed that we are not entitled to discuss actual abuses we've suffered because we possess "male privilege."

We are over the phase where MGTOW could be ignored and ridiculed. There is now confusion, hatred and fear, because they lack a strategy that can work to stop this growing trend. Men are awakening to MGTOW, very slowly, but in increasing numbers at an increasing rate.

this presents a wildly false dichotomy. it's saying that there are a handful of men who did shitty things to women... and because of that, now we need gender quotas. that makes no fucking sense. these are completely separate issues. for the guys who did shitty things, send them to the gulag. but if she can't code, she doesn't get the fucking job and needs to GTFO.

Silicon Valley is not invulnerable.

Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai, Dubai, Bombay, Hong Kong, and pretty much everywhere else in the world wants a piece of that action. In many of these places, the gender stuff and diversity of "white leftism" has no place. In fact, the "white leftism" gives these states the opportunity to bury Silicon Valley by recruiting new talent from Silicon Valley (while at the same time, brain draining the Bay area, which as Nassim Taleb would say, is "hard to reverse").

The problem for smaller high tech companies is that they live or die by the talent that drives their product. They cannot afford to hire and pay for incompetents for the sake of diversity. If they do their competition will destroy them.

I saw the effects of diversity (women) hiring first hand in my 30 year engineering career. But my company was huge, fortune 500, and could afford to absorb these diversity hires. There were always enough truly competent individuals (white/asian men) to do the heavy lifting and keep things going. Female engineers were hard to find and would always get preference. A few were actually decent engineers, not exceptional but good enough. Most weren't and they were usually fast tracked into management.

The irony is that the female dominated HR department in my company became so toxic that it led to the engineers voting to unionize in the late 1990's. This was a huge shock to the corporation and cost the female HR VP her job. But too late, we were gone, never to return to the ranks of management. The irony is that for me personally, this turned into the best thing, something that I could never have anticipated. My career was half over and I went from uber engineer, 110% effort, to laid back cube dweller at about 20% effort. I hated the union "we are all equal" ethic of protecting the worst, most incompetent among us but after awhile I came to appreciate the protection the union gave me from a capricious management, especially that goddamned HR dept. Three times the union came to my aid during "positive discipline" procedures brought against me by women.

The end result of all this diversity/HR overreach/unionization was that I had a lot of free time and thanks to the internet started to learn finance/investing and looking out for number one. This led to my achieving "financial independence" and early retirement. I am pretty sure that had none of this happened I would still be grinding away in that cubicle.

I suppose I owe 3rd wave feminism a little gratitude for their indirect positive impact on my life.
