I don't either. Had a heated argument with my father the other day, ended up with me calling him a cuckold. I just don't understand it, it's beyond perverse.

The mother and child will always remind the man that he is not the real father of the child. He will have no say in the upbringing or discipline of that child. Then why pay for it?

I see guys in the situation all of the time and I just shake my head in disbelief.

I was 39 when I married for the first (and last) time to a single mother with a teenage daughter. Yeah, when I screw up, I'm all in.

I did it because I was a blue pilled white knight who was going to show my wife what real love was and give her daughter the first real father she ever knew. Mom was very pretty too. I got sucked in by that.

Seven years later, got divorced, got free, and got red pilled. MGTOW followed soon thereafter. But, that's how it happened.

Sometimes the kids are cute.

Sometimes guys are afraid they may not be able to father children.

I know a guy who had a vasectomy years before. Her child was 12, so he did not mind. Also his kids from a previous marriage turned out very well.

It's not the innocent mom's fault. It's the evil daddy's fault. The poor kid needs a father.

That's the way the thought process goes. Men have morals and get exploited for it. It doesn't work when you give women responsibility for spreading their legs.

Tho if a man was stranded on a deserted island maybe it could make sense to be with a single mother that has a daughter - for future breeding possibilities. Just a thought, this of course wouldn't work well in our society.

My gut feeling is that a lot of those men are insecure and feel that if they support a child they are less likely to be dumped.

It's because the very concept causes fundamental cognitive dissonance in men.

On the one hand, it is a morally benevolent thing to do. Providing for a child in need. Stepping in to fill the role of father.

On the other hand, our biology is completely against it. Resources being spent on a child not our own. Taking on a mate with existing baggage. In nature, animals in this position almost always kill the previous offspring.

That is man in a nutshell. Caught between the rising ape and the falling angel. Between natural, biological drives and the conscious thought of a sentient being.

Life is best when these are in balance, but it cannot be so for all issues, including this one.

Better to leave well enough alone. It's Current Year(TM), and we - Men and women - are all equal, right? Then we are equally responsible for the consequences of our choices and actions.

Which means women who make the choice to be single mothers - whether by leaving the father, getting knocked up by a Tyrone or otherwise deciding she will be fine without a male provider for her and her spawn - can deal with those consequences.

My Step Dad brought me up from age 1 after my mother and biological father got divorced due to my biological father spending all his time in the pub and being an alcoholic. While I consider my step Dad to be my real Dad by virtue of raising me it’s one of those paradoxical situations where I think it’s morally wrong, and yet a lot of good came out of it. Firstly I had a father in my life, whereas I would not have if he had not decided to raise me. Secondly I have 2 half brothers and 3 half sisters. I’m very close to one of my half brothers. I personally would not raise another man’s kid. My mother is fully responsible for marrying too young and marrying someone who clearly had an alcohol problem at the time, but, again, even though it was an immoral choice I wouldn’t exist if the choice weren’t made and this comment wouldn’t be here, LOL! I guess in life people make wrong choices, but God is gracious enough to allow good things to come in spite of the bad choices we make. I just escaped being a Bastard as my biological Father was married to my Mum when I was born, LOL!

My mates just got in a relationship with a woman with 2 kids from a previous relationship. He got in trouble off her last last week because he wasn't home from work to look after the kids while she went for a manicure. He was working all day whilst she's claiming JSA.

I honestly cannot believe someone would stand for that shit.

Well in certain situations it seems like the honorable thing to do. For example, let's say you have a female friend. Let's say she's raped and she's impregnated as a result of said event. Now let's say because of a mixture of hormones and illogical thoughts she decides against an abortion. An "honorable" man would offer to marry her so that the child could have a father. Now I know that this is an extremely unlikely event but it's just one situation where a man would raise another man's child.
