No specific experience, just observations. Theres nothing left for men in relationships. Why do it? If you are simply after sex.. feminism has removed the stigma surrounding the promiscuity of women - devaluing the value of sex. If you are seeking a partner, you cant trust that any relationship will stand the test of time - and when the inevitable day comes when the 2 are dissatisfied, women have the ability to destroy you and not word of protest will be heard from anyone. In fact, you'll have a band of bitter man-hating cheerleaders to cheer you on. Also, women arent taught to be accountable for their actions or to take responsibility for themselves. I know im painting this picture with a broad brush but this is generally what we've observed. All in all, we've weighed the pros and cons and have decided to turn our backs on a fundamental part of what we've evolved to do - to pair bond and procreate. If you think we are angry, its because the removal of this drive doesnt come without its scars and many of us here - especially the loud ones, are the ones who are just coming to terms with it now.

Marriage is a cultural construct to protect women and children.

As evidenced by national laws men are unnecessary in raising children.

I've never wanted to get married or have kids or live with anyone else. This nixes a lot of the reasons in my opinion that one would want to connect with a woman.

All but one or two of my relationships with women (friends or otherwise) have been total happenstance. I have regretted every relationship I've ever had with a female. The reasons for that? Just read some of the stories of the manosphere, they're similar. I won't get into it here because it'd fill a book.

In retrospect I am glad the women who rejected me did. It was a blessing in disguise. I feel like I dodged so many bullets. No pregnancies, divorce-rape, child support, cohabitating, STDs, or anything permanent from my relations with harpies. Just severe emotional trauma, which can pass or become manageable.

I reluctantly swallowed that bitter red pill. There is still a part of me that wants to believe, and that still wants to fuck women but reality shatters those ideals every single time. Women will always reveal their true nature eventually, they can't help it. And I'm grateful for that.

I am totally determined to never see women as anything other than what they are, and act accordingly, while keeping my best interests at heart. I have a fairly strong sex drive, so it's hard, but my capacity to love women is now totally gone, as I come to realize their capacity to love me never existed.

That's the long and short of it. I want to write my entire story out someday, but it can wait.

I'm 27 if that matters.

Ok, first off, what "made me go MGTOW". Mgtow is about individualism with common ground. I feel like that its like a form of libertarianism.

My story?? My teens I was rejected by women, in my early twenties , got a good job, got fit, my confidence soared. This point I found , that I found new passions in life, mountain climbing, off road cycling and swimming. Volunteering

I was now at this point I was red pilled with out knowing, I was bringing women home for casual sex, but felt no connection , dating apps every woman seemed the same. Found mgtow and that is why I am here today.

Im not a bitter guy, I don't hate women.. I feel like society puts a lot of pressure on young guys, and women put on a lot of it too, my only regret is not finding about mgtow at an earlier age.

I think lots of men here found their own unique path to this life. I hear many different stories here and can agree and identify with some and there's other opinions I don't share.

Personally I never had problems getting into relationships or finding a partner. Didn't have a problem finding something more casual between relationships. No one event made me take this path, rather a culmination of small things I noticed until one day I questioned what I was receiving from all of it.

The answer is pretty crude but it's how I feel. These women were bringing their looks and sex to the table. That was it. And to be brutally honest, the value of both fade with time.

The more I thought about it the more I found that none of my girlfriends ever had hobbies. The interests they had were almost always Netflix, going to brunch, going out drinking and dancing with their girlfriends, shopping on Amazon. These things are fun but they're not hobbies, and they certainly aren't something I want my life based on. Now I understand I'm making a blanket statement and there's women out there with hobbies, I like rock climbing, I see some at the gym. Why can't I date one of them, she has a hobby that's also one of mine. Well.....

Current expectations for relationships are just as antiquated as marriage. In my experience with multiple different long term relationships I was expected to : pay a majority of household bills, a majority of household need, pay for all dining out, all dates, all extra excursions or vacations, all the tabs if we went out drinking, etc. I was having a conversation with a then current girlfriend about that and she said verbatim "if you don't want to pay for it, someone else will". She didn't say it to be mean, she didn't say it in a threatening way, she said it as a matter of fact. And she's right. She was/is a very beautiful girl and has no problem finding dudes falling all over themselves to pay her way.

Then there is the flat out inequalities of the final stage of marriage. Moat women want to get married, I had two LTRs end when I flat out refused to ever want to marry. If I were to marry and did the absolute best I could and was a great husband for 5 years, did everything right, I could and likely would lose everything I worked for those five years if she decides she wants out. Doesn't matter the reason, she's bored, she doesn't love me anymore, she's found someone new, etc. I will then lose full time custody of my children and have to fight in court or mediation to get 50% custody, have to pay child support for these kids, likely have to leave my house so my kids who she has custodial parent rights to won't have to move. She can take me to court for alimony, part of my pension, my savings, my 401k. This doesnt even include things like businesses, boats, cars, etc. All because she decides she doesn't want to be together anymore? Almost seems like not only is there a not a penalty for destroying a family there's actually an incentive to do so. Add in if the end of the relationship is happening partly because of meeting someone new. So the end result would be yeah this whole divorce is gonna be unpleasant but the end result is I can pursue this new relationship I'm interested in and get a bunch of money and possessions?

So to sum it up I'm gonna take all this risk (plus many more I didn't even mention) for what? For sex and looks? When the value on that has a shelf life. No thanks, it doesn't sound like an enticing offer anymore

I would say feminism has opened my eyes, the equality agenda has shown me to look at both genders and their benefits received within society. Women benefit from so much more than men - relationships are no better and why should I get into a relationship when I can purchase it?

Love/lust is just a feeling that fades over time and is dangerous because it lures you into making poor decisions, its a primitive feeling to make us procreate but as the world now wants, we should be refraining from acting on primal instincts.

Weigh everything up and the better deal is to be single

Hi mllions, thanks for dropping by! I always really wanted to be a husband and father. I am a father now and that is as wonderful as I had hoped, but my experience being married, abandoned, betrayed, divorced, parentally-alienated, financially ruined, and falsely-accused, by someone I deeply loved and considered to be my best friend, was so horrific, it almost killed me (literally) and it caused me to really think about relationships objectively for the first time. I am lucky to be alive today, and well, after a lot of thinking, studying, and even attempted dating, it just seems super clear to me that the troubles/risks to being committed to a woman (today, in western culture) far outweigh any benefits. I would definitely marry another woman if it could be handled in the way it was traditionally done by the many generations that came before us. Now, it just isn't worth it to me. Sadly, my life is much better without too many modern women in it.

My father accused of sexual harassment. My brother jailed as a sex offender by the mother of his girlfriend. He was 19, I can google his name 20 years later and the first entry is the sexual offenders list.

Early on I realized not going to jail was one of my life objectives and it was directly opposed to relationships with women.

Joined the military. Watched troops depart and that day all the bars were filled by the young wives looking for a shag.

I have never encountered a marriage I envied. 8 months ago I posted in another thread that I knew 1 couple I would consider happily married. 3 months ago the my sister told me she was divorcing because she wasn't happy. Now I know 0. I've watched women instigate divorce after divorce. Tearing children from their fathers with no remorse.

I have one life to live. I will not allow society to dictate my path. If a relationship fails my cost/benefit evaluation I discard it.

Love? a hormone that lasts for 3 years in order to ensure the woman has enough resources to raise the child. Nothing in that arrangement to benefit men save getting their dick wet.

It is simply not worth my life.

I got married for better or for worse. She wasn't happy and left, no grit or perseverance. Sued me for half my wealth and garnished my future wages. I go to work daily and she is now a stay at home single person with no responsibilities. Her benefits from me supporting her for all those years are still more of my money. Ok, you don't like the generalizing. Well, its a pretty important thing to do when looking at risk aversion. One of the major driving factors behind MGTOW hasn't really been feminism or women's lib, but that society has been extra vigilante in addressing what women want and completely uninterested in what men want. You'll see this in 30 something year old women looking to settle down. They have a good job and maybe a great education and they expect that to mean they should get an above average man, BUT men don't care about your job or your education. Ok, maybe a little, but its really far down the totem pole of priorities. You see, relationships are mutual exploitation. Sure there's feels, but at the end of the day both parties need to feel properly compensated for their contributions. Women haven't been listening to men's needs and wants for 50 years in a row.

Back to the generalizing: TBF, women, as a whole, have much more power over our generalizations than we do. We run numbers and compare anecdotal evidence. When a woman displays an undesirable behavior, and the laws/society does nothing (approval) then that behavior MUST be factored in. Lets look at 2 examples of undesirable behavior:

Nagging - this behavior is never appreciated and is a pure negative from a man's perspective. For most men, though, it's tolerable. As long as she has redeeming contributions, most men would accept that exchange despite her flaws. She may be a nag, but she's MY nag :D) HOWEVER, that behavior is still going to be factored in. Therefore, women in general will be considered nag-prone.
Slut - this behavior is NOT a pure negative, but it is NOT tolerable for most men as far as LTRs are concerned. Women don't care, they defend and claim empowerment from slut behavior. Men object, but the legal/social consequences simply don't exist. What that means, is that our culture deems slut antics to be acceptable 'good' woman activity. Therefore, since we cannot legally take action against a woman who behaves as a slut even while married, we MUST factor that in. So, now, ALL women are slut-prone.

None of this is to say that you shouldn't be sluts. We are not in any position to determine what makes your life meaningful or fulfilled or whatever it is you might want out of life. You do you. That's what we're doing. But if you want us to do you, you will need to start asking us what we want, and stop getting upset if what we want isn't synergizing with what you want us to want.

There are a lot of reasons, probably one for every guy who's had enough.

Still, how about one most women are familiar with?

Girl: "Where have all the good guys gone?"

Good Guy: "Hi"

Still, men are expected to approach a woman, and some how not seem like a creep.

Court a woman by taking her on dates and treating her like a princess, which takes both time and money.
Be available and stop what we're doing at the drop of a hat to answer any and all texts, calls, conversations and/or requests. We have to be there emotionally, financially, and some how act like she's strong and independent. We have to unlock our phones so the girl can make sure we're being faithful, but trust that all the guys she chats with on facebook/instigram/twitter are just "friends" and can't even question her relationship with them.

And if we're good, or (more likely) better than the rest of the guys orbiting her, our reward is a relationship where we're expected to continue this treatment as well as provide for her and any children we may produce, plus children she might already have.

Statistically 80% of all divorces are filed by women, so the odds aren't in our favor that any sort of lasting relationship will happen. When the inevitable divorce happens, we'll lose half our wealth, 30% of our income will go to child support (which doesn't get audited to ensure the money actually goes to the child), 40% will go to alimony because a (strong independent) woman needs to maintain her lifestyle (and the remaining money is taxes)

So, how about this? What's the point of a relationship? Why even bother dating when everything is so stacked against men in general?

I fit the stereotype of the dude who struck out with women all his life, and when a relationship would take place it inevitably ended in disaster. But for me, it started way before that. When my parents divorced and my mom took the house and received enough child support to not need a job, she would sometimes slip and insinuate that my father was a deadbeat dad and that she deserved more. My father was never a saint, but it didn't make sense to me that she could live off of another person's dime and in their house and still put him down and complain. That's really what started it. What cemented it is every interaction I've had with females since then.

I'm familiar with the proverb of "if everything is a problem, maybe the problem is actually you", and I've been ready and willing to make and accept excuses for women all my life - even up to this point, as pathetic as it is. I long to wake up tomorrow to the news that unicorns have always existed, and there's one outside right now. So many times I've tried to convince myself that it's just me, I'm making excuses and turning to fringe ideas, but alas, I just can't lie to myself anymore.

Any time I have a negative interaction with a female(which is a lot), I play the scenario back in my head and change the genders around in every possible permutation. Every now and then, it really is me just being an asshole and flubbing things up. But nine times out of ten I can't imagine it going down the same way if society didn't place more expectations on me, and less on women. Maybe that's just my bias talking, but it doesn't really matter, the end result is always the same - I have tons of negative interactions with women, and because of what I look like and who I am there is not a damn thing I can do about it: short of telling them to go fuck themselves, which is an amazing, freeing thing to do.

Empiric observation and experimentations for several decades. Double, triple standards at school, uni, work. Being told over and over again that no matter what I do or do don't do, say or don't say, I'll be in the wrong. Things are getting so bad for men, especially white cisgendered 'privileged' men, that saying something, anything, even slightly against the feminist dogma is a proof of guilt and saying nothing is an admission of guilt.
