Usually if people tell you not to be selfish, they want something from you without giving anything in return, which basically makes them selfish.

I don't mind cocky and conceited guys as long as they're not annoying and put it in your face all the time. Some are actually good at what they do and I respect that. But met so many cocky "alpha" posers that would throw others under the bus instantly. Very annoying.
