Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.) argued during a Tuesday panel at the Center for American Progress Ideas Festival that having females in leadership roles would solve problems, saying, "If it wasn't Lehman Brothers but Lehman Sisters, we might not have had the financial collapse."

Really? Let's examine that statement. What caused Lehman Brothers to go bankrupt? They were balls deep in mortgage origination in 1997. They gobbled up as many subprime mortgages as they could get their greedy little hands on, wildly out of proportion to their capital. Of course, once the housing prices started dropping, suddenly their assets (mortgages) were a lot less valuable than they had been, which leads to the second issue: accounting. Lehman Brothers cooked the books using repurchase agreements (buy my car for $1 now, sell it back to me for $1 in six months type of thing so I don't have to report it) from late 2006 right up until it declared bankruptcy.

So back to Senator Gillibrand. What would the hypothetical Lehman Sisters have done? Not give people mortgages for houses? It's well-known that women's 'morality' (such as women can be said to have morals at all) operates on an ethic of 'caring.' I doubt that Lehman Sisters would have resisted ACORN pressure to prove how much they 'care' by lending money to the 'oppressed' so they can partake in the American dream of acquiring a 30-year money pit, I mean HOUSE, and prove their 'caring' and goodness to a bunch of social justice retards.

On to the second matter, accounting shenanigans. Women wouldn't have engaged in accounting malfeasance? The Australian bank AMP just had a massacre on its board of directors in which every female on the board resigned rather than get voted out by shareholders who were pissed at the company for improperly charging fees, lying to the Royal Banking Commission, and tampering with an independent report about their unethical behavior.

It's almost as if, despite feminist implications, in actual reality, Women Are NOT Wonderful.

P.S. It's come to my attention that the CFO of Lehman Brothers at the time of its bankruptcy was...A WOMAN. Erin Callen Montella. She also chaired some internal GRRL power committee called 'Women's Initiatives Leading Lehman.'

P.P.S. It's also come to my attention that Sen. Gillibrand has opposed every single woman nominated to serve in the Trump Administration. Clearly, having women in power can't be that important.
