Expanded job market means more workers and less jobs. Remember, women work now more than they ever did.
Minimum wage changes the game because before you paid someone for pennies because it was a starter job or some place for them to gain skills. But now that minimum is so high? Most employees are not worth that minimum wage
Why are women getting jobs easily? Hiring quotas and metoo. Companies are terrified of women complaining about everything. So in many case they get something for nothing. Even google is scared of women.
Cost of living increase. We demand so much that lower class people in many ways live better life than upper middle class generations ago.
Welfare state throws salt in the game. These people spend your tax dollar and live as if they earned a nice wage and drive prices up
Schools have become a joke. Too many people flooded university that it’s seen as boring and ordinary as opposed to exceptional. Not to mention that many schools don’t teach relevant skills. Ever heard of humanities? Or lesbian dance theory? LOL.

In the past, most teens were expected to pull their weight with summer jobs. It was weird af if you didn't work somewhere between school years or on the weekends.

Now, a lot of the jobs that used to go to teens are either automated or occupied by 30-year old immigrants and loudmouth black women who spent all of her welfare check and Tyrone's child support on her weave.

Mass immigration means you have to compete for shit jobs while racing towards the bottom of income. There will always be someone out there willing to do the job for less than minimum wage who will allow themselves to be exploited. Half of AA hires are actually women, meaning you pretty much have to be specialized to get a job these days as a straight white male.

Add a skill by going to trade school. Some unions(I'm not pro-union) in the US will help with tuition for certain fields. Your state may also help. Don't depend on a minimum wage shit job. Better yourself.

You must be living in the wrong place. I know it's cuck town USA... But i live in the SF Bay area..... LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE PLACE is hiring.... LITERALLY! This is not an exaggeration. From Mcdonalds to fucking salesforce to anything. If you have a hard work either or skills you have a job. It's stupid!

Reason for the big ass interview... it costs so much money in training and retention that they want to get someone who is going to be around for awhile. They also want someone who is going to show up everyday.

1: Supply and demand. At least double the applicants means less openings and wages.

2: Diversity hires, they're gonna hire useless workers with the right demographics over people that actually do the job.

3: Artificial scarcity. Often openings will not be posted.

If all else fails you can join the military for 4 years and get out.

That’s if your in dire need. Go in a civil engineering, IT security, maintenance field. Preferably a more male oriented field.

I had to do training to get a career job, it was free but it sucks when you get a degree and mindlessly listen to everybody telling you the piece of paper gets a job when all you needed was experience.

I could have kept working in retail and did my training 8 years ago and not have student debt.

I don't even think trades have changed in a bad way compared to college.

It can depend on a lot of factors I believe. First you need a marketable skill, that gives you weight in an interview. Second you need to be in a place that has jobs for your skill. Some skills are useful everywhere, others are more useful in certain places where the relevant industries have set up. Third, you need to interview well, that usually takes a lot of practice.
