Yea. That’s not what happened. It’s been on the decline for years. As soon as the major players left (founder and his people), everyone else just robbed the company until it went under.

No buyer strategy for products No SEO (search engine optimization) No strategy for video games and consoles similar to bestbuy and GameStop

I don’t even think they continued doing research on customer base. There is plenty of demand for the things being sold... but when you let share holders control your company they want profit at the expense of the company. When you let customers dictate policy, they rob you blind.

Perfect example of what happens when you don’t have a strong male leadership. Even the manufacturers pulled their product off the stores shelves recently because they’re millions in debt to the manufacturers.

Hey! Remember when Toys R' Us was one of the Top 25 companies for 'Diversity'(Feminist Compliance)?

Now, I'm not suggesting that feminism killed Toys R' Us (debt, competition, and executive pay contributed), but it sure as shit didn't help.

I agree with the comments on this. Another issue is what happened to the boys section over the decades. They took away traditional boys interests and feminized some of the toys.

It's winy excuses from companies like this who prove they know nothing about business. Either you adapt or you die. When your competition zigs, you zag. They had branding that was effective, but if you have nothing exclusive that a consumer values you're done. As soon as they knew sales were being impacted by a demographic's decline, you have to move in another direction. Then you target collectors, retro toys, licensing deals, partnerships, etc. WHILE maintaining a strong online presence.
