I don't like short breeds (how shallow of me lol) but seriously, I had a black and white English spaniel as a kid, and... she sucked. I hear if you're a hunter they're great though. Get a German Shepard! Intelligent, loyal and fearless. I hear that Dobermans are like that too, but they look too flamboyant for my taste lol. Get a German Shepard puppy and train him well (send pics too, we want to see!)

A friend of mine had a Basset when we were growing up. That thing drooled all the time. There was always a long glob of it hanging from his mouth. Whenever he started to shake his head we would all dive behind some furniture for cover. Inevitably, a string of goo shot across the room and landed on a chair or the wall. It was disgusting. Nice dog though.
