Growing up, I watched ESPN for hours. It would always be scrolling in the background of my living room, showing highlight clips and scores. It was about action and results.
Last decade, ESPN changed. The commentators became the show, crafting personalities beyond their catch phrases. This decade, ESPN has most devolved into assholes arguing with other assholes about outlandish topics (I'm looking at you Skip Bayless).
Last week, it occurred to my why I stopped watching ESPN. It has become one big shit test.
Hierarchy of value in sports:
(1) Winning, Participating, and Training (2) Watching Live (3) Following Casually (4) Listening to Others Talk About It
Turn off ESPN. Go outside and improve yourself. Don't voluntarily participate in more shit testing than you will already face in life.
