If you put all/most of your assets in Bitcoin, then say they were stolen/lost/whatever, can that be traced or copied back to you?

I honestly don't know the answer to this, I haven't messed with Bitcoin too much. Anyone know the answer to this? Is it trackable in a court of law yet?
