There are two narratives spinning around in the hamster wheel: hypergamy and solipsism. MGTOW veterans like Stardusk and Niko Choski, PUA experts like Rollo Tomassi and Roissy, have been very good at exploring the hypergamy motive.

But as time goes by, I'm starting to move beyond it as a full explanation of female mate selection. I am, because hypergamy doesn't explain, for example, why an Angelina Jolie divorces a Brad Pitt or a V. Stiviano throws a Donald Sterling under the bus. You don't get a Mary Kay Letourneau, who left her rich, handsome, built husband for Villi Fualaau by ascribing it to hypergamy; you have to look somewhere else.

Hypergamy explains half of a woman's libido. Understanding it is a simple application of evolutionary psychology, but rely too heavily on it, and you'll discover it breaks down as an explanation far more times than it should, if you think biology explains everything.

The other part that those red pill folks don't realize is that women have an ego, and that this ego often places women in a paradox of which we know little (probably because we haven't looked into it so deeply...perhaps someone should?)

Say she gets her Chad; not only is he ripped, but he's 7 feet tall and makes 10 million dollars from the IPO he sold on NASDAQ when he was 25, right after graduating from Stanford with a doctorate in computer science, after leading the team to its first NCAA national championship and getting drafted by the New England Patriots.

Let's say he grinds up on her at the club...Does she screw him? Pressure him into marriage? Have his babies?

I honestly don't think it's so clear cut. See, this guy is so stratospheric compared to her, she's never going to feel like anything but a failure around him. Even if the Chad is lovesick with Oneitis, she doesn't think she has any leverage with him, that the only thing she could possibly ever be is a "pump and dump" type that'll be yesterday's news the moment he gets bored.

She may matter to him...even deeply. But she is wondering if she matters--not just to him, but to herself.

If she is with Chad, people will say she's lucky; but they'll never say she's worthwhile. She'll always be "Chad's bitch," and while it is good to be "Chad's bitch," this also means that she isn't the center of attention. This is when hypergamy gets on a collision course with the other element in a woman's psyche that is just as potent (perhaps even more potent): Solipsism.

Women are known for "shit tests," but how do you "shit test" a Chad? Seriously, if you want to make an Alpha jealous, you don't cheat on him with another Alpha; that'll just cause the man to say "fuck you," and date someone hotter.

If you want to make the man who has it all crazy, you cheat on him with the dumpiest, poorest, ugliest, laziest and good for nothing piece of shit you can find. Even love that loser in ways you never loved your Chad. We see it happen with far more frequency than we would expect, don't we?

Hypergamy can't explain a Mary Kay Letourneau, or the scores of teachers caught having sex with teenage boys, or any of that. But solipsism and ego validation can.

Except that their filtering criteria for "best genetics" is "Cosmo tells me he looks cute, Lulz!".

Men are no longer being selected in Nature by true fitness but instead by whatever current fad wimminz fancy.

What the RP calls a "Chad" today bears no resemblance to what a successful male has looked like in evolutionary terms.

All those pretty metrosexual bois and the gym meat cakes might be beautiful creatures in the eyes of most wimminz, but there is nothing "Alpha" about them, and their genes might work great for peacock signaling but are worthless for long term evolution.

Maybe it should be specified as perceived genetics. Just because she thinks he has superior genetics doesn't mean she is correct. His fat paycheck may have tricked her into thinking he has good genes.

There are other things going on, too. For example, if you were to insure the survival of your genes, you'd want to spread them with as many different partners as possible, and not just one. Note that closed societies such as the Amish tend to have a problem with inbreeding because of lack of diversity. Hundreds of years ago if she ran around fucking every Chad in sight, she'd keep getting pregnant and society would refuse to help her. Or help her in ways she didn't like, such as "We'll raise the baby, you go away." In today's gynocentric society, babies mean an instant paycheck and victim validation.

Also due to birth control technology and knowledge, just the mere act of having random sex with Chad and not getting pregnant may make her change her mind about him. I suspect that if she has sex with a guy for a while and doesn't get pregnant, her primal instinct tells her that he is defective and can't make babies, and she needs to move on to the next guy. Even if she's the one that is defective, or has an IUD, or is on the pill, or they use condoms.

I understand your point. The only flaw with your hypothesis is that women always see a better candidate in other men than their current partner even if her current partner is objectively better.
Let me put it this way; humans need variety in their lives and get bored with the same thing when they have to deal with it over and over again.
If you combine that need for variety with hypergamy, the pool of potential candidates is literally bottomless.
Also, like others have said in this thread: humans want to spread their genes as much as possible in combination with combining a half of their genes with the best possible other half they can. Organisms in concept are basically copying machines and the ones that were succesful in doing inadvertently made sure that the generation coming from themselves has that need equally or more.
It's basically a positive feedback loop; if you are succesful in procreating that means your set of genes is succesful and because you are able to pass it on, the next generation is 'programmed' as it were to follow your imperative ad nauseam.
It took billions of years but we essentially are the product of a brute forced (through the sheer amount of time evolution had) process of trial and error.

They seek out the genetics that maximized fitness in the ancestral environment where our subconscious desires evolved. Picture a small tribe of 50-100 people where everyone knows everyone else.

If you display alpha/dominate behavior in that environment it's highly likely that you are one of the tribes alphas, you get put back in your place too quickly otherwise.

This circuitry is high jacked in modern environments by a guy being fun and a bit of an asshole at a club. It triggers the same responses but obviously doesn't mean the same thing.

OP, I think evolution/reproductive drive demands quantity over quality. These are base instincts at work. Nature knows that having children with as many men as possible with yield the best chance of high caliber genes.

What isn't a myth is that women will seek out the BEST PACKAGE, aka money fux / beta bux.

Doesn't matter what you look like, win the lottery and you'll become a CHAD overnight. Age doesn't matter too.

And the opposite is true. No matter how good looking you are, you will get to fuck bored housewives or enjoy many temp fucks along the way. But when the fun and games end, Poorer CHADS get dropped too, because having fun with her pussy is a secondary objective to most women, while chasing the dream, finding that super elite package is what she's really after.

Genetics has fuck all to do with it.

Women are emotionally driven. It's that simple. That's why men are better leaders in general. Of course hypergamy plays a role, but culture, advertisements, movies and so forth have a much bigger impact. That's why a women will cheat on her "Chad" for the adventure and mystery of it. It's the culture where they can have it all.

Even the perfect Chad will make mistakes and if a short period of time goes by where he's not meeting her ever growing emotional needs, she'll find it somewhere else. That's all it takes.

I have personally witnessed this many times as I work with hundreds of women. No man, not even a Brad Pitt can satisfy them long term.

Many of you won't agree, but I believe this has a lot to do with Biblical principles being ignored in our society. Most women used to aspire to be a Christian wife to her husband, save herself for marriage, to be loyal and yield to him and his authority, and in return for him to protect and provide for her.

That ship has sailed, that's why I'm MGTOW anyways
