I know the mods don't like political content. But given how the article implies that "criticism of one woman is a criticism of all women," I thought this was relevant to this sub.

First off the writer is a "professor" of inguistics at the University of California, Berkeley, and the author of Language and Woman's Place. For some, this is the first red flag.

The "She only gets critizism for this because she is a women" kind of talk is extremely dangerous. People here in Sweden have been talking like this for 20 years.

The result is of course that we have breeded a special class of politicians who feel that they have to answer to noone. They can basically get away with anything. The leader of a major party sat down drunk in the cinema and peed on the floor. She still gets to cosy around in the media on game shows and is still leader of a influential party. We had an environment minister who painted her diesel boat with illegal poisonous paint, and the woman who came second place, who was supposed to become prime minister has like one year's equivalence of tax debt for a normal person that she never paid.

The guys are corrupt here too, but women surely seem to lead the way. The guys might go visit a porn club every once in a while, which I think might not be the classiest thing to do, especially if you're married and have children. But the female politicians seem to ignore the rules they set to everybody else. Constant shenanigans with apartment deals too.
