Now some of you on MGTOW may consider this extremely off topic.
Allow me to explain myself.
Solo travel, backpacking specifically, especially in my early twenties has allowed me to better myself in so many aspects of life and that's what this shit is about right?

- You'll Appreciate Your Homeland
If you haven't been off into the world yet, especially by yourself or with friends then this may be a bit confusing and possibly sound rather contradictory. How can traveling and leaving your home country to make you appreciate it more? As you sink into the comfort your daily life and routine presents to you it can become quite easy to start to forget and take for granted the things in life which we may begin to feel entitled to overtime. Chances are if you get the chance to travel for leisure then you had it pretty good back home, at least in comparison to most of the world.
Leaving the country when I went backpacking, especially when traveling through countries in southeast Asia, such as Thailand and Laos it was a real shock to the system and it showed me how blessed I was to have a life in New Zealand where some of my biggest problems were stressful emails.
People really do struggle in the world and I think that once you see this it can raise your ambitious and appreciation for your life back home, which may enable you, as it did for me, to take advantage of the \
Physically leaving, taking action and living from a backpack taught me these lessons, not the media, you need to experience environments which give you proof beneath your eyes that your life ain't so damn hard.
The further you leave your home, the closer you can go once you return.
I traveled to Europe and traveled around on a train, hitchhiking and by plane with the intention to learn about the people there, the food and while I did do all of the above I also learned a surprising amount about myself.
As somebody who's career and life revolves around improving themselves and others physically, mentally and spiritually, solo travel becomes an incredible opportunity to clearly see your strengths, weaknesses and enables you to explore more of yourself.
I always saw myself as very outgoing and while I am, while I am able to step out of my introverted nature, it became more difficult to do so in the first few weeks of travelling where feelings of loneliness became very real, however it is the fact that you overcome these and improve which is the reason solo travel has so many benefits. It almost forces you to push out of that comfort and learn and fail from your experiences so that you can make the most of your journey.
If you're young and reading this, really try and travel as much as you can because it is in these years where so much of your developing happens, to be able to synergize this with the joy of travel will allow you to grow much quicker.
- Destroy Your Comfort Zone
If you're reading this in the comfort of your own home chances are you're comfortable, you have finished your day at work or school and now you're chilling out. Your social circle is established, your gym routine is established, the avocado and bacon sandwich that you eat at 12pm every single Monday is established. Throw in new people, new food, new situations, new sensations and you have the environment traveling alone exposes you to, the familiarity and comfort are stripped away. Now, this may sound unpleasant if you have never done this before, what's the point, what's the point in bringing this unpleasantness to yourself if you are comfortable. Now I am only talking to a very specific person right now, there those that crave travel, but chances are these are the people that have gone and traveled once before, see what I did there? Strip these familiarities away and it will force you to face the fear of the unknown and don't deny having it, everybody has this, we're human. Embrace this discomfort and it will reveal itself like a cocoon of a butterfly the pleasures and rewards that your uncomfortable self will bring forward. It is the times of discomfort that we are tested and you must aim to do this test as much as possible.
The takeaway message is travel, not just to take Instagram photos (do that too) but travel because it's going to allow you to consciously put yourself in situations all day that at home would seem abnormal and pointless because you are so established in your comfortable routine and daily pleasures.
- Confidence And Social Skills
As you conquer the obstacles of figuring out how to use public transit in a foreign country or asking for simple things in a grocery store, you are building a confidence and ability to adapt to foreign situations. I remember moving to a country where I spoke little to none of the languages.
When I returned home, I moved across the country to a state where I had no family, friends or connections. The prospect of that move may have intimidated me before living abroad, but then I thought to myself, ‘Well if I can do it abroad in a completely foreign system, I will be just fine in a place where I at least share the language.’
You realize that you CAN do things, despite the obstacles and suddenly the obstacles seem less obstructive and more like welcomed challenges, even game/pickup.
I feel that solo traveling is an ultimate form of MGTOW Especially in terms of independence. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not warranting lost, travel to escape, rather I'm just giving the suggestion of doing so as it will improve your social skills, your confidence, what you get out of life and it gives you so much room for deep introspection..
If you've traveled alone do you think it improved any aspects of your life? Game, pickup, business, social skills, maybe nothing at all (but I highly doubt that).
