The reason we don't discuss self improvement is because the definition of that varies by person. Some people may consider making a ton of money to retire at 40 self improvement while others may consider cutting expenses to a minimum and living on a minimum income self improvement. It's really hard to categorize self improvement when you have men here from all walks of life. The one common theme here is not getting attached to women - this is mainly discussed in detail for newcomers and those who need a healthy dose of red pill reality if they start catching feelings and falling by the wayside again.

It's occured to me just watching from the sideline, that mgtow spends alot of time whining and hating about/on women, instead of actually discussing how we can improve our lives in the absence of women. And at that point it I feel like it becomes a self defeating philophosophy. I feel like it could be a much more positive movement you know?

Not sure how it is self defeating here, just not optimal for moving men forward.

But then the questions arise immediately - go where on our own? The thing is, there are all sorts of men here - American, Canadian, German, Australian, English, French, Kiwi, etc. etc. There are liberals, conservatives, alt-right, communists, whatever. There are people with college education and good work experience, there are teenagers, there are skilled tradesmen, there are people on disability.

Are you suggesting that there is a single blueprint for everyone, which we should be exploring?

Once you get past the reasons to be MGTOW, paths will diverge radically. That's why we don't have videos here about organic muppet farming, or underwater basket weaving for fun and profit, or whatever.

Exactly! We left the plantation behind, why should we then still complain about the plantation instead of building up a new life in the outback/outside the plantation?

We attach ourselves to this general philophosophy for a reason, most of us have faced some really hard times and alot of suffering, and I would just wish that mgtow focused more on how we can pick ourselves up again and create fullfilling lives for ourselves.

You genius, man. Although I got to know women's true nature, yes I suffered from a hard heartbreak (she lied to me that she already got a boyfriend -> literally nervous breakdown) and I still kinda feel the symptoms (OCD-like, kinda like Adrian Monk). It obviously does not mean that I still crave her/women, hell NO! It's just like the aftermath of this heartbreak/nervous breakdown which got to be healed.

General philosophy of MGTOW is this (or at least should be this): As a MGTOW, you got to know the true nature of women, so you left the plantation. You are free, free from pussy-worship and stuff. You are outside of the plantation: You only see free wide land, take a land and become the best version of yourself.

I agree with some others that this is not your final destination. It's a forum for people on the fence maybe. In some cases I like to share my perspective for people wondering how we cope without women. From TPE dolls to hobbies and work / life balance. It's all manageable. But you need to be looking for those threads.

If you want to learn/share ideas about self improving this is hardly the place mate. There are specific places on reddit and outside of reddit for this. With that being said its very important for you to know yourself and what you want from life and i am not talking about stuff like 'i want to have 1 gazilion $!!!' i am talking about some kind of plan of how you can achieve the goal you set for yourself while enjoying your life. This is something that only you could give the answer to because you should know yourself best.

An good example for that is that if a member of MGTOW tells you the best way to improve yourself is to learn to jump from skyscraper with parachutes will you go for it? And if not why? That might have worked for him but you are you and you are not him so find your own solution achieving that by itself is a huge reward!

The essence of MGTOW is realising that relationships is a no win game and there are much better ways to spend our time. Yes we talk about women a lot but the things that really interest me are in r/scuba and r/freeflight. You don't really see MGTOW working here. This is a gateway to the idea that a man does not need to validate themselves.
