I made a post a little while ago responding to a person in /r/thebluepill that wanted to discuss MGTOW ideology. I thought that I would amend the post to create some content for discussion here.

This is what I have to say about the central ideology of MGTOW: The modern day MGTOW ideological movement could not have possibly existed before the age of internet globalization. MGTOW is a reactionary ideology and thus so in it's very nature of existing as a reactionary ideology, means that there is an imbalance occurring somewhere within society. MGTOW exists due to the existence of key driving forces, and those key driving forces in question are extremely varied: Personal life experiences, statistical data from valid sources, and 3rd party information from other sources, such as the current post on /r/MGTOW pertaining to military wives. In MGTOW, what we do is discuss ideas, concepts, and share information. Similarly to how in a philosophy course classroom there is discussion and refining of philosophies towards life, so too in the MGTOW movement do we men share ideas and sharpen and refine our perception as to what is truly occurring in this world.

What I find interesting and amusing is that Feminism and MGTOW are actually very much alike, yet one is constantly the target of vitriol and one is deified and venerated within contemporary culture. There are no leaders in feminism, just as there are no leaders in MGTOW; there is only the discussion of ideas. Feminism is also like MGTOW in the sense that feminism is reactionary towards factors that are skewed against women. Some people all collectively realized at some point, "Hey, you know, these particular imbalances are actually pretty skewed and fucked up and are negatively impacting us", and so too is this the same story regarding MGTOW. I don't know why so many people are so vehemently venomous towards the MGTOW ideology. What MGTOW does at it's core is reject and oppose societal imbalances the same way that feminism does. If men really don't want to pursue traditional dating, traditional marriage, etc, is it really so bad? If men don't want to dance like a monkey in the hopes of impressing a girl, is that really so bad? If men want to protect their assets, maintain their autonomy and freedom, and have good quality sex without compromising their time, resources, and their lives, is that all really so bad?

MGTOW simply is a collective of individuals who performed a cost-benefit assessment and risk-reward assessment on traditionalism, and decided that it simply wasn't worth playing the game. We share ideas, stories, and philosophies on life. We refine our perceptions. We see the world for what it truly is, with no sugar-coating. No man wants to be disempowered. No man wants to jump through hoops and hoops just to have sex with a girl. No man wants to risk losing their assets. No man wants to compromise their livelihood. No man wants to play Russian roulette with 1 loaded bullet and 1 empty chamber. We just walk away.
