Said by my English teacher.

Instant bullshit alarm went off. I had to stifle a smirk from the old woman. We were talking about context and how the same words can mean something different depending on the situation.

Like for example a guy and his buddies call each other "bitch" as a joke. Or, if he called another guy a bitch as an insult.

Told us that she sees a guy calling another guy a bitch a much bigger issue than saying that to a girl. Said, "If you use a feminine term as an insult on a guy, that's disrespectful and you're insulting all women."

How? How in the right mind does that insult all women? I'm in the front row so I'm glad her eyes were in the other direction. I had the biggest smirk on my face holding in my the laugh. The guys were absorbing that shit like it's nothing.

The social conditioning starts at home, is reinforced at school, then the final nail is driven in by 'societal norms'.

Remember that.
