Told us that she sees a guy calling another guy a bitch is a much bigger issue than saying that to a girl. Said, "If you use a feminine term as an insult on a guy, that's disrespectful and you're insulting all women."

If this is supposed to be part of education in 2016 and if someone said that line to me I would most probably never visit that school again.

If you call a guy a bitch, you are saying the man is like a woman who is a bitch. Some guys will use bitch as a word to simply mean woman. I suspect this is what she's referring to. So if you call a guy a bitch, you could be meaning that he's a woman, and being a woman is a bad thing.

But as you're thinking, it simply depends on the usage of the word. That someone else hears an insult and thinks they know exactly what you're talking about without actually knowing, AND being wrong, is not entirely stupid, but it is a kind of willful ignorance.
