Ah yes. One of the greatest red pills. Someone sidebar this... It's a true instant classic.

I kind of wonder if this isn't related, psychologically speaking, to the baby stone-face experiment. Search it up on youtube. Babies are happy when you're smiling at them. If your face goes expressionless then babies start to freak out. First they start acting out to try and provoke a reaction. Then they do they only thing their evolutionary instincts tell them to do, and start bawling uncontrollably.

Babies need to be provided for. If they don't have interaction, they start to feel like they are disappearing or becoming invisible. An invisible person is not allocated resources and care by the tribe.

Women also need to be provided for. Very few women truly provide for themselves. But all women have the evolutionary brain wiring of a provided-for baby. To me, that's why women have a deep need to constantly prod an aggravate those around them. It's their way of making sure they're not forgotten about and securing their share of the harvest. Women emotionally and psychologically torturing and manipulating men is the equivalent of the freaking out baby feeling uneasy and lashing out for reaction and recognition. A baby not receiving positive tactile feedback from parents or tribe is smart, and realizing it may be getting cut off from provision and protection. Same as for women. Like the baby, the woman is extremely insecure, and will neurotically interrogate her surroundings in order to satisfy her worthless disappearing complex.

A man who is upset is also put in a vulnerable position and is easily molded and manipulated to a woman's will. It's psychological abuse but probably evolved.

That's my insight anyway.

PS Edit- I think it's a basic input/output. Men know they have effect on their surroundings and any time they can command respect. But women and children don't really have that. Their "input" is soft, and they measure it by the output. Men are direct cause/effect. When women and children don't get the "polo" they expect after their "marco" I think it induces panic of a fading existence. If continued, hysterics follow. That goes for both women and babies.

I'm pretty sure I'm on to something here. That's why sometimes women just need to be comforted. Even if nothings wrong... they're just lashing out and need random reassurance.

Headline aside, the article claims that it's not the upset which makes women happy, it's that they can read those negative emotions.

Dr Shiri Cohen, the study’s lead author, said: “It could be that for women, seeing that their male partner is upset reflects some degree of the man's investment and emotional engagement in the relationship, even during difficult times.

“This is consistent with what is known about the dissatisfaction women often experience when their male partner becomes emotionally withdrawn and disengaged in response to conflict.”

So, a man could be upset but become emotionally withdrawn and disengaged and that would not make the woman happy. But if he becomes visibly upset, that would make her happy.

Maybe one way to interpret this is that when men display emotional vulnerability towards a woman it allows that woman to control him, to have a certain degree of power over him.

This is about control. Women want to be in control of the relationship and in control of their husbands' emotions. When women realize that they can control their husbands' emotions, of course that makes them happy because they realize that they can then exploit their husbands' emotions to get what they want from the relationship.

I find it interesting that they avoid the most OBVIOUS reason why: sadism, schadenfreude, and being in a position of power.

Just look at all of the contortions they go through to try to justify it -- and based on what? Some delusional false-assumption ideal that women are somehow ALWAYS "caring" and "nurturing"?

They're blatantly denying the evidence that contradicts that view -- it is right in front of their eyes, but they refuse to see it.
