I'd rather lose a limb than experience a divorce. It's seriously easier to recover from the loss of an arm/leg than it is to recover from endless void of shit that is a divorce.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that unicorns do exist, problem is, there's only one way to know for sure if you really have one. Death.

If, after many decades of blissful marriage, one of you is on your deathbed, and she is still as sweet as the day you met, then you can say you bagged a unicorn. Until that time comes there really is no way to know.

I know from my own experiences as well as many others that women can wear a mask for decades. What seems to be a perfectly good marriage can be destroyed on one of her whims in a heartbeat.

Without warning, that wonderful woman you loved, cherished,and supported will rip the world out from under your feet. She will gloat and laugh about how fucked you are, in spite of the fact that you did nothing to deserve it. That beautiful angel you married will morph into the devil before your very eyes.

I tell younger guys every chance I get, under no circumstances should you ever get married!

Why do we even have marriage anymore when women aren't taking it seriously. "Till death do us part" isn't supposed to be a suggestion. Long-term I can see the eventually disintegration of monogamy and marriage rules and rights as a result of people being fickle idiots and then we'll have planned communities of men and robots raising all our children because women don't want to "woman up" and do their fucking job.

The irony is that no one can force a man to get married. Granted, he may be constantly brainwashed by all the devils around him that it's some kind of fantasy he's destined to see fulfilled but at the end of the day, he has only himself to blame. If he wants kids, there are other options. If he's already married with kids, getting out and doing what's necessary may actually improve his health and lower the stress levels. If he's considering remarrying, he should really think about that carefully.

Isn't this a general human thing? I think this boredom that is written about is just human. Like men don't get bored or long for this new and exciting new love or an affair. However, I think men would be shamed if they would out such statements. Women clearly can say they're bored and that they want to leave.

monogamy (and marriage) is not a natural human state. Humans did not evolve this way. None of the great apes are monogamous by nature (except Gibbons but they don't really count). Chimps are our closest relatives and they are promiscuous as hell.
