...Not for some woman, dammit, but for myself.

Going on the articles lately about women marrying themselves, I think I want to "marry myself". Not to have the ceremony and all that crap, but to have the ring, so I can give off the impression of being married, without actually getting married...to myself or anyone else.

I have several reasons why.

1) Employers and society in general find bachelors suspicious. The presence of a ring somewhat removes this suspicion among strangers.

2) Women will, on first glance, be less likely to consider a man wearing a ring as "creepy" because, in their minds, someone else saw something good enough to marry.

3) It might actually help me get laid. Women will think, "there's some good thing some woman is getting out of this guy, and I want to know what it is". I call it the "Pandora syndrome"; she sees the box that says "don't go there" and all she wants to know is what's inside.

4) It'll also keep the users away, the whores, and the chicks asking for "favors", because they'll figure I'm not so desperate as to fall for easy seduction.

So what do you think? Are there legit reasons for a man going his own way to get a wedding ring? Or is this just stupid?
