I'm not that old, but if you do pursue women and relationships just make sure you don't marry, or have kids, or get involved with a woman who has kids.

The stories you hear about men losing their life savings, retirement accounts, homes, etc. are usually men who are married or common law married. There are some exceptions (I think in some areas, shacking up with a single mother makes you financially responsible for her kids but I don't know the details).

Always remember, the women who like you for your degree and income don't like 'you' they like what you can do for them. In your case, give them money. They'd throw themselves at any other guy with money just the same and they'd abandon you if you lost your income. You may be tempted by the women you can get after you gain status and money, but just remember if you get disabled and lose your job the women will disappear.

Invest in meaningful friendships. Friends will hopefully be there no matter where you are in life. Broke, rich, happy, sad, up, down.

You can stay working or go on vacation without those women around.

You can also wear a fake wedding ring so some women will skip you. It will attract others, however.

There will be times you can comfortably hide your profession and money. I suggest doing so.
