Hello,

I was wondering what you would need a salary of to live comfortably all by yourself in the U.S in an area that dosent have have to be the nicest but isn't the projects.

Some things to keep in mind for me personally I appreciate good food so I'd probably spend more on that. Entertainment for me is just video games. I also don't smoke or drink nothing against it but a big savings monetary wise. Also no loans of any sort, about 6k in the bank. 30k miles Car, reliable, all payed off. No pets either.

Aside from that, all normal stuff Internet, phone, Netflix Hulu instead of cable. Minimalist lifestyle.

Everyone in my life tells me I need to be working some 50k+job to survive out on my own mainly a lot of females like my mom.

Living at home is bearable but very annoying due to my beta father and crazy mom.

From what I've read rent for apartments in a place like Raleigh NC aren't that expensive in a lot of cases still leaving lots of room for other expenses. Am I being mislead about the cost of living by those around me?

To conclude, I was wondering if some of you guys living on your own could provide some insight and experiences on how feasible living on your own is, and whether it's worth a large portion of your paycheck to be able to have a place alone free of all.

Thank You
