Okay, a related true story:

An ex-girlfriend of mine, who was not particularly attractive in the face department, but who had a nice figure (8-9 figure; 5 face), invited me over to her house once. I saw a photo of her parents. Dad: homely as hell (3-4). Mom: beautiful features in all areas (9-10). Her Dad: American. Her mom: Eastern European.

At a certain point in the evening, she reveals that her mother is in the Caribbean. Just her mother? Yep. Where is the father? In America. How long does she go for? A FEW MONTHS! She winters by herself in the Caribbean. How long has this been going on? YEARS! And the dad is okay with this? Yep. He really loves the mom and wants her to be happy.

My theory: the dad made some money (her family was well-to-do), went to Eastern Europe to find a wife, courted a hot, but impoverished girl. Or maybe the woman came to the US first, and then he picked her up at a recent immigrant bar. After she bears him his children, his sex drive goes down, as it does with age. He's preoccupied with work. Her sex drive goes up. She becomes unhappy and lobbies to go the Caribbean because she can't stand the long cold Midwestern winters. He lets her.

I didn't announce my suspicions of course, but as soon as I heard about the mom going by herself to the Caribbean for months every year on the dad's dime, well, it was like an alarm klaxon going off.

The girl seemed blissfully ignorant to the possibility.

I was just about to post this one. But yeah this article is so full of hamsterizing - it's funny how they're so reluctant to called it 'sex tourism', which they refer to as 'romance tourism':

Or maybe they realise it's a sham but go along with it anyway to live out a fantasy?

I've noticed how this artical is still trying to spin these women as 'victims'. How gullible are you? Especially at the age of 40+?

The stereotypical image of the sex tourist is a Western man who travels to Thailand or the Philippines to pay for sex with young women and even children.
